Samsung’s Galaxy A9 Pro has a massive battery and is coming to India on September 26

Samsung is slowly bringing the Galaxy A9 Pro to more markets. The device launched in China back in March, and then came to Malaysia in June. Now, it’s coming to India for 32,490 rupees, which is around $485.

The A9 Pro is unique because of its massive 5,000mAh battery, which should theoretically keep the phone powered on for quite some time. Its specs aren’t flagship, but lie more in the mid-range category. The A9 Pro sports a 6-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, and is powered by a Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It comes equipped with 32GB of storage, but you can expand it with an additional 256GB thanks to a MicroSD card slot.

The phone will ship with Android 6.0.1, according to News 18, and offers a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It also has a dual-SIM and a fingerprint sensor.

As far as the design of the phone goes, it looks quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy S6, featuring a combination of glass and metal providing a high-end look.

The Galaxy A9 Pro will be available online and at Samsung stores in India beginning September 26. It comes in gold, black, and white.

Samsung’s device is priced on the higher end, which may not be good if it wants to stay as a competitor in the mid-range smartphone market. Xiaomi’s Mi Max offers nearly identical specs and costs a lot less than Samsung’s offering in India. The OnePlus 3 also offers a Snapdragon 820 processor for a lower price tag as well.
