There are still a few more weeks until Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters, but eager fans will be able to get a sneak peek at the film later this week in a live-stream event on Twitter.
Hosted by People.com, the event will kick off on Friday at 10 a.m. (PT) and feature some fresh footage from Rogue One followed by an interview with the cast and creative team for the Star Wars stand-alone film. Fans will be able to submit questions ahead of time — via Twitter, of course — for director Gareth Edwards, Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy, and the cast members in attendance at the event.
In order to watch the event, fans will need to head to Twitter and either follow along at RogueOne.Twitter.com or through @StarWars or @people. Questions can be submitted using the #AskRogueOne hashtag and the following hashtags will also generate special Rogue One emojis created for the event: #RogueOne, #DeathStar, #StarWars, and #StarWarsRogueOne.
The interviews will be conducted at a “surprise location,” according to the official announcement regarding the live stream event.
Along with Edwards and Kennedy, the cast in attendance at the event will include Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Riz Ahmed. People’s deputy editor, J.D. Heyman, will host the event and conduct the interviews.
“People come to Twitter to see what’s happening in the entertainment world, and the conversation about movies, especially Star Wars, is constant on Twitter,” said Twitter COO Anthony Noto in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Our collaboration with Disney and People will give fans fresh and exciting live Star Wars content that they can view and Tweet about all on the same platform.”
