Casio Ratchets up Speed, Dynamic Compositing for new Exilim Digital Cams

EX-FH100-Silver-Front-Angle

Along with a frame to turn your finest snaps into works of art, Casio remembered to include a few new shooters to fill your gallery, too. The company’s four latest Exilim digital cameras include a high-speed cam, and three that feature the dynamic compositing tech it introduced last year at CES (and that we were less than impressed with in our recent review of the Z280).

Like the old EX-FC100 and the EX-FS10, Casio’s new EX-FH100 can shoot at up to 1,000 frames per second after cranking down to low resolution. As a more traditional shooter, it offers a 10.1-megapixel CMOS sensor hiding behind 24mm glass with 10x zoom.

The EX-H15, EX-Z200, EX-Z550 all offer 14.1-megapixel sensors, Exilim 5.0 image processors, HD movie capability and an Art Shot function apparently culled from the same tech powering Casio’s new frame. The top-tier H15 and Z2000 both offer high-resolution 3.0-inch screens, the latter with 5x zoom and the former with 10x. The stripped-down Z550 offers a smaller 2.7-inch screen, 4x zoom, and no Art Shot, but retains HD movie capability.

Best microSD cards in 2023: top picks for your computer, camera, or drone
galaxy s8 tips and tricks

MicroSD cards are an unsung hero in the mobile space. They provide extra storage space for your smartphone, but they're also key in tablets, drones, and security cameras. Unfortunately, this feature is falling out of favor in the smartphone space, and most flagship and midrange phones no longer have a slot to insert a microSD card. Even the most expensive phones around, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Samsung S22 Ultra don't have a microSD card slot anymore. You're not even safe if you have an iPhone or iPad, as they've never had microSD card slots.

But all is not lost! Some of the best Android phones and best Android tablets do still support them, and they're still required for use with cameras, security cameras, and drones. But no matter which device you're buying it for, you'll want to get your hands on a microSD card from a reputable brand.
