How to get the Piranha Plant in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launched in December 2018, with a roster of more than 70 characters, including multiple newcomers and every fighter ever featured in the series to date. It’s an impressive lineup, and is bolstered even further by the implementation of the Piranha Plant. This fighter can slam multiple times in a row into enemies, spit projectiles and poison, and unleash a spring-powered long-distance attack, among other moves, and its Final Smash is none other than the famous Petey Piranha.

In 2019, Nintendo implemented a way for early Smash Bros. buyers to acquire the Piranha Plant fighter for free. Though, that free offer has since expired, there is still a way to get your hands on the fighter for a nominal fee. Here’s everything you need to know about acquiring the Piranha Plant in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

How players obtained Piranha Plant fighter for free

If players bought and registered their copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate by January 31, 2019, they’d be granted free access to the Piranha Plant fighter. Upon registering it, you would have received an email from Nintendo with a code to unlock the character for free — whether they bought it physically or digitally.

Players who bought the physical copy needed to register the game through the My Nintendo Rewards Program to obtain Gold Points and receive credit for owning the game — after which, they would have gotten the same email listed above.

Since 2019 has long passed, you are no longer able to obtain the fighter for free, even if you purchased before January of that year, as the DLC codes have now expired (as of June 2019). This was a limited-time offer meant to reward early buyers of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and is no longer valid, unfortunately.

How to get Piranha Plant in 2021

If you’re reading this in 2021, you likely missed out on getting the Piranha Plant for free. Fortunately, Nintendo hasn’t walled off the fighter completely, but it’ll cost you. To acquire the fighter, you’ll need to purchase it from the eShop for $5. Keep in mind, this is the only way to obtain the character, as it’s not available through any of the additional Fighter Pass bundles.

To buy Piranha Plant, head to the eShop and search for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. When you find it, select the game and you’ll be brought to its landing page on the digital store. Scroll down from here and you’ll find all of the DLC that corresponds to the game, including various fighter packs like Sephiroth and Steve from Minecraft.

Click View All Items, and you’ll see a list of all the available DLC items you can buy. Scroll down until you reach the Piranha Plant stand-alone fighter, which you can select and purchase for $5. Once you do that, it’ll install and you can boot up the game.

Typically, you’ll need to play a match or two and you’ll get the “A new foe has appeared! Challenger approaching” message, indicating that a battle to unlock the character will begin shortly. Then, defeat the Piranha Plant to obtain it in-game. If you lose, you can certainly try again.

Super Mario RPG Wedding Hall guide: Where to find Peach’s crown and other accessories
Princess Peach with a parasol in Super Mario RPG.

Mario and friends have chased down Peach to Marrymore late into Super Mario RPG. It isn't Bowser who has her in his clutches this time, but Booster, who intends to marry the princess against her will. After busting into the church to call things off, Peach's crown and other accessories will be scattered across the chapel. You will need to find every last missing item before the ceremony begins, but they aren't all in plain sight. Here is where to find Peach's crown and all her other accessories in Super Mario RPG.
Where to find all of Peach's accessories

Aside from her crown, you will need to find her shoes, ring, and brooch as well.
Peach's crown location
The crown is the easiest to find since it will be in sight right away. After the collision, the crown ends up resting atop Booster's head standing at the altar. All you need to do is jump on top of him to get it back.
Shoes, ring, and brooch locations
The other three items weren't dropped on the floor, but havebeen collected by Booster's Sniffits. These quick little dudes will be running in patterns around the church and pews, so you need to intercept and speak to each of them. Just talking to them will do the trick -- you don't have to engage in a fight -- so just mash the talk button as you approach.

Nintendo introduces a new Super Smash Bros. Switch OLED for Black Friday
Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Switch OLED.

Nintendo unveiled all of the Black Friday deals and bundles it plans to offer in the coming weeks. These offerings are headlined by a brand new Nintendo Switch bundle with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that has never been available before.
The Nintendo Switch -- OLED Model: Super Smash Bros. Ulitmate Bundle costs $350 and comes with a code for the fantastic 2018 crossover fighting game as well as three months of a Nintendo Switch Online Membership. The bundle's Joy-Cons feature a design based on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Unfortunately, this deal includes neither Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Fighter Passes nor the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. Nintendo says this bundle will be released on November 19, although they've already been spotted in some stores.
The other big new offering from Nintendo this holiday season is the Super Mario Party + Red & Blue Joy-Con Bundle. It costs $100 and includes a download code for Super Mario Party in addition to Red and Blue Joy-Con controllers. Keep in mind that this bundle includes 2018's Super Mario Party, not 2021's Mario Party Superstars, which remastered a lot of content from the series' older games.

Nintendo also plans to offer bundles that have been available before, like the Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle and Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch Lite.
Various game discounts for Switch games will also go into effect on November 19. In terms of Nintendo-published games, people can expect Everybody 1-2-Switch! and Nintendo Switch Sports to be discounted by $10, titles like Luigi's Mansion 3, Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to have $20 discounts, and for Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Mario Strikers: Battle League, and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes to all be available $30 cheaper than usual. Sadly, it does not look like Nintendo itself will offer any major deals surrounding this year's The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
All of these bundles and deals will become available on November 19.
