Fortnite season 4 week 10 challenge guide: How to catch fish at Heart Lake

It’s a new week, meaning there is a new batch of weekly challenges to cross off your list in Fortnite. As part of season 4 week 10, one challenge requires you to catch seven fish at a place called Heart Lake. It’s unmarked on the map, so you’ll probably need to be pointed in the right direction.

Fortunately, we’ve got all the details on where to find Heart Lake and how to catch fish there. Here’s how to catch seven fish at Heart Lake in Fortnite.

Where to find Heart Lake

Arguably the most difficult part about this challenge is finding Heart Lake and getting set up to fish. This spot is found just north of Stark Industries, within the large circle of this area. The lake … sort of looks like a heart. If you squint and step back 10 feet or so. Nonetheless, boot up the match of your choice (squad modes are best so your team can watch your back) and land at the small dock on the north side of the lake where you’ll find a barrel of fishing lines. You’ll now be ready to start fishing.

How to catch fish at Heart Lake

To start fishing, you need to grab a fishing pole. You’ll find some in a barrel on the dock to the north of Heart Lake. There are a few other barrels in this area, so run around the shore and see what you can find. After you’ve grabbed your pole, toss your line with the right trigger where you see a school of fish to guarantee a catch. Wait for the controller to vibrate and then press the trigger again to reel it in.

Keep doing this until all the fish in the school are gone. Try to find another school of fish, but if you can’t, you’ll need to just throw your line in the water and hope for a bite. You’ll almost always get something, but it’s not guaranteed to be a fish if you don’t toss your line at a school. Either way, you should be close after catching all the fish from a school, so keep trying, while being cognizant of the storm and other players who might also be going for the challenge. Here’s a video of us catching fish at Heart Lake.

Sometimes you’ll get guns or useless items like cans, but keep at it and you’ll catch seven fish in just a few minutes. If you get eliminated before you can grab seven, you can try again in another match. As with most weekly challenges in Fortnite, this one is cumulative, meaning you don’t need to catch all seven in a single game. After your seventh catch, you’ll gain credit for completing the challenge and be rewarded with 25,000 XP.

How to survive storm phases carrying an Epic weapon in Fortnite
Character jumping while holding Epic weapon in Fortnite.

A new Fortnite challenge for surviving storm phases while carrying an Epic weapon has caused some confusion, as the quest's wording isn't exactly clear. Thankfully, the challenge is much easier than it seems, and once you know what to do, you can get through it relatively quickly. Here's how to survive storm phases while carrying an Epic weapon in Fortnite.
What is an Epic weapon?
Fortnite uses a rarity system with its weapons, which are denoted by colors. Purple weapons are Epic, but keep in mind you can utilize any weapon of higher rarity to complete this quest. As long as the weapon is at least Epic, you'll earn credit for surviving storm phases.
How to get an Epic weapon

There are several ways to get Epic weapons. One way is to simply find one from chests or as floor loot, but this isn't as reliable. You can also purchase Epic weapons from NPCs around the map. Nearly all main hubs have an NPC who sells weapons, so be sure to talk with them if you have the funds. Using an Upgrade Station is another solid option for collecting an Epic weapon, though it's expensive. Another option is to defeat the Highcard Boss found at Brutal Bastion, Shattered Slabs, and Mega City. Upon defeat, the Highcard Boss drops a Mythic Havoc Suppressed Rifle.

How to give specialist a command in Fortnite
Character interacting with NPC in Fortnite.

As part of Fortnite's Spring Breakout Daily Quests, players are tasked with giving a hired specialist character a command. Of course, the game doesn't specify how to do this exactly, leading to some confusion amongst the community. Thankfully, we've got everything you need to know about completing this new quest with ease in Fortnite.
How to hire a specialist

Specialist Characters are specific NPCs all around the map. If you pull up the quest itself, you'll actually see a map of all the Specialist Characters. Keep in mind that not all NPCs fall into this category, so be sure to look at the map. We like the one to the very north of Breakwater Bay as it's usually out of the way. Once you find them, you'll need to pay 200 Gold Bars to hire them. If you don't have the funds, be sure to play more and complete bounties as needed.
How to give a character a command
After you've hired the Specialist Character, they'll be on your side for the duration of the match. If you look at the top left side of the screen, you'll see an icon that represents the Follower Communications wheel. Press and hold left on the D-pad on console or the middle mouse button on PC to get this menu to appear. Once it does, you can pick from a list of commands such as wait or follow. To complete the quest, you simply need to issue one command and after the NPC does what you ask, you'll earn credit for completing it.

New characters from Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 2.

Surviving in Fortnite and securing a Victory Royale takes skill and luck. Getting better at Fortnite requires a knowledge of the playing field and a drive to outlast your opponents, but none of that matters if you aren't picking up the right weapons. Building a loadout that suits your playstyle and managing your inventory as the match progresses is key to snagging a win. You don't want to be caught in a long-range battle against someone on a mountaintop without a solid rifle on hand, and you certainly don't want to find yourself inside a close-quarters building without an SMG or shotgun.

Our guide to the best weapons in Fortnite breaks down rarity types and what they mean, the most effective arms in each weapon category, and tips for how to use them. Chapter 4, Season 2 brought a lengthy list of changes to the Fortnite arsenal -- including new weapons and the return of some fan favorites.
