Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II — The Sith Lords is coming to mobile devices. The RPG classic lands on iPad, iPhone, and Android devices on December 18.
The game was originally developed by Obsidian Entertainment and released for the original Xbox in 2004. Developer Aspyr is handling the new port, which will be available on the App Store and Google Play. Fans can purchase the mobile version for $15.
According to Aspyr, the game is optimized for mobile devices and features touchscreen controls. Other than that new tweak, the mobile version sounds like it’ll be mostly identical to the original version, with no extra features or content mentioned.
Fans can pre-order the game starting today on both the App Store and Google Play Store. The App Store listing has the game’s file size clocking in at 3.9GB.
The mobile port is a continuation of Aspyr’s partnership with Lucasfilm, which has seen the developer bringing back multiple classic Star Wars games. Earlier this year, Aspyr brought Star Wars Episode I: Racer to modern consoles and it previously revived two Star Wars: Jedi Knight games. Speaking on the ongoing collaboration, Aspyr Vice President Elizabeth Howard says: “We’re proud to continue working with Lucasfilm to bring classic titles like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II to modern platforms.”
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II is one of the more beloved Star Wars video games, garnering high critical praise and selling over a million units. Fans can currently revisit the first Knights of the Old Republic game on mobile devices. It costs $5.
