The best Mac-10 loadouts in Call of Duty: Warzone

Now that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has been integrated into Warzone, the number of available weapons has increased by a hefty amount. In total, players have access to all of the weapons in Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War, with the promise of more firearms to come with future updates. One of the best weapons to use currently is the Mac-10, an SMG that shreds through your opponents due to its high rate of fire.

Even though it’s a fantastic weapon, it can be tricky to figure out the best attachments and perks to use with it since there are so many to choose from. We’ve spent quite a bit of time with the Mac-10 and have narrowed down three of its best loadouts, great for close quarters, medium range, and all-around situations. These are the best Mac-10 loadouts in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Mac-10 overview

Let’s cover what makes this weapon so useful before actually jumping into the loadouts themselves. For starters, the Mac-10 has an extremely high rate of fire, making it easy to take out other players from close to medium range. Not only that, but it deals relatively high damage, meaning you can quickly take out your targets as long as most of your shots land. It also has relatively usable iron sights, which is great for freeing up a precious attachment slot. The weapon does have high vertical recoil, but thanks to a slew of attachment options, this can be mitigated to make it much more manageable.

The Mac-10 is so good that it has become one of the most used weapons following the recent Black Ops Cold War update. To be frank, the weapon will likely be nerfed in a future update to make it slightly more balanced, but until then, you’ll probably continue to see players using the Mac-10 to stomp the competition in Warzone.

Medium range

The first loadout we’ll cover is one that is good for medium-range engagements. To be clear, this isn’t an ideal way to use the Mac-10, as it’s best utilized up close, but with the right attachments, you can shred through your enemies even at medium range. To start, we advise using the Agency Suppressor Muzzle, which will keep you off the enemy’s mini map when firing, and will improve its vertical recoil control. The 6.1-inch Reinforced Heavy Barrel is great for ranged engagements and improves the weapon’s damage, damage range, and bullet velocity — perfect for securing eliminations from afar.

Since you’ll be using this loadout at medium range, we advise to use an Optic of some kind, preferably one that keeps your aim down sights (ADS) time as low as possible. The Microflex LED is an ideal candidate and will help you line up your shots. If you don’t mind the weapon’s iron sights, you can skip this and add a different attachment, but we found it best to use a sight when firing at medium range.

Again, since recoil is one of the Mac-10’s weaknesses, we advise using the Field Agent Foregrip Underbarrel to help improve the weapon’s control — especially at medium range. And regardless of how you’ll be using this weapon, we always advise to use extended mags — in this case the Salvo 53 Rnd Fast Mag to ensure you’ve got enough ammo to take out enemies who are farther away, while improving your reload speeds.

Here are the attachments for the medium range loadout.

Muzzle Agency Suppressor
Barrel 6.1” Reinforced Heavy
Optic Microflex LED
Underbarrel Field Agent Foregrip
Ammunition Salvo 53 Rnd Fast Mag

Keep in mind, the Mac-10 won’t work at long range, so we highly recommend bringing along an assault rifle or sniper to balance out the loadout. Many players have been using the Mac-10 with the DMR tactical rifle, which works wonders. As always, use Cold-Blooded, Ghost (or Overkill to have two primary weapons), and Tune-Up or Amped perks, depending on whether you’re playing with a team or in Solos. When it comes to equipment, the Mac-10 works great with stuns/flashes and semtex/molotovs to ensure you’re keeping your speed up. Other equipment works fine, but the ones we mentioned can be thrown or deployed very quickly, complementing the Mac’s speed.

Close range

You’ll find that the Mac-10 is most effective up close and you’ll want a loadout that highlights its strengths. While up close, it’s a good idea to stick with the Agency Suppressor Muzzle, as it will prevent you from showing up on the enemy’s radar when firing. This is particularly useful since you’ll likely have multiple enemies to deal with — making it tougher for them to pinpoint your location as you run around and out-maneuver them. Then, use the Steady Aim Laser to increase your hip fire accuracy. This works well in close-range situations where you might not need to use ADS.

Follow that up with the Raider Stock to improve your ADS speed. You’ll find that this build has the best of both worlds: Fast ADS speeds and high hip fire accuracy — excellent for any situation up close. Again, bring along some sort of extended mags like the Salvo 53 Rnd Fast Mag ammunition to ensure you’ve got plenty of rounds to secure one or more eliminations. Do note that the bigger the magazine size, the slower the reload speeds, even with the Fast Mag attachments. In close quarters, you might find the 43 Rnd Speed Mag to work just as well, giving you faster reload speeds than the 53 Rnd mags.

Finally, make sure you add the Airborne Elastic Wrap Rear Grip to improve ADS speeds once again — as well as lowering your flinch resistance, which will hep you keep your sights lined up with your target, even while getting shot. Here’s the attachment list in full.

Muzzle Agency Suppressor
Laser Steady Aim laser
Stock Raider Stock
Ammunition Salvo 53 Rnd Fast Mag
Rear Grip Airborne Elastic Wrap

As mentioned before, you’ll definitely want a secondary weapon that works well at long range when using the Mac-10. Since this build is best in close-quarters engagements, we advise you to come equipped with an assault rifle to cover your bases from medium to long range. Also, a Heartbeat Sensor and grenades are extremely useful with this class, along with the Cold-Blooded, Ghost (or Overkill), and Tune-Up or Amped perks.

All around

For the final Mac-10 loadout, we’ll cover a class that is ideal for as many situations as possible. This well-rounded setup works great up close and at medium range, which is useful since matches in Warzone tend to throw all sorts of firefights at you. To increase the weapon’s vertical recoil control, use the SOCOM Eliminator Muzzle. You’ll find this extremely useful when battling it out at medium range. It will also lower the amount of time you show up on the enemy’s radar — it’s not quite as useful as a silencer, but the increase in vertical recoil control makes up for that.

Then, come equipped with the 5.9-inch Task Force Barrel for increased damage range and bullet velocity. While this attachment is most useful at medium range, it certainly won’t hurt up close, either. Follow that up with the Field Agent Foregrip Underbarrel, which again, increases recoil control. You’ll find that this class is geared towards making the weapon as easy to control as possible. Slap on the Salvo 53 Rnd Fast Mag for added ammunition, as well as the Airborne Elastic Wrap Rear Grip to improve ADS speeds. Because of the high recoil control and fast ADS speeds, you’ll find that this loadout works well in many situations — getting you closer to that coveted Warzone victory.

These are the recommended attachments.

Muzzle SOCOM Eliminator
Barrel 5.9” Task Force
Underbarrel Field Agent Foregrip
Ammunition Salvo 53 Rnd Fast Mag
Rear Grip Airborne Elastic Wrap

As for a secondary, you can get away with using a sniper or something else that pretty much only works at long range like a DMR. This is because the Mac-10 will be decked out with attachments for it to excel at medium range and up close. Ever since C4s have gotten a range nerf, we advise to stick with semtex grenades or frags, along with flashes or stuns. Heartbeat Sensors work well during the early portions of the match, so add that to your first loadout if you’re someone that likes to get a second loadout that includes Ghost. The recommended perks remain the same: Cold-Blooded, Ghost (or Overkill), and Tune-Up or Amped.

The loadouts listed above work well for us, but might not exactly line up with your play style. Use the loadouts we mentioned and adjust accordingly to meet your needs. Some players might not like the Mac-10’s iron sights, while others might need to adjust more for vertical recoil. Other players might find the weapon’s ammo to be sufficient, so it always comes down to play style and preference.

The best weapons in Warzone
Characters posing for Warzone Season 4 promo art.

Now that Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Season 4 has been out for a little while, we've got a better sense of the game's weapon meta. There are some clear winners that carry over from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, but there are other top-tier weapons that might surprise you in battle royale. Of course, the weapon meta constantly shifts as Activision updates the way firearms perform, so we'll make sure to keep this up to date with each new patch.

These are the best Warzone 2.0 weapons for Season 4, categorized by weapon type. Keep in mind, some categories will be skipped, as they don't have any viable -- let alone meta -- options at the moment.

You can get Call of Duty and Alan Wake with PS Plus in July

Sony has confirmed the three PS4 and PS5 games PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers will receive this July, and it's actually the best lineup the service has seen in a while. It features one of the best Call of Duty games from recent years, a cult classic that needs to be played before its sequel launches next year, and an overlooked 2022 indie.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was first released in 2020 and, as its title suggests, is set in the 1980s during the Cold War. It features one of the most creative Call of Duty campaigns since Modern Warfare 2 and makes excellent use of DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The multiplayer and zombie modes are good fun too. Next up is Alan Wake Remastered, a remaster of an excellent 2010 horror-thriller from Control developer Remedy Entertainment. It's an experience best played unspoiled, so I'll simply recommend you go and play this. Its PS Plus addition is timed well, too, as Alan Wake II is set to release and continue the story this October.
Finally, Endling - Extinction is Forever is available this month. This 2022 indie game follows a mother fox as she tries to protect her cubs in a forest continuously getting ravaged by humans. It's a chilling, staunchly harrowing adventure that clearly displays the negative effects of deforestation, pollution, and environmental exploitation. You might have missed this game last year, as it came out on the same day as Stray, so definitely give it a shot now if you haven't yet.
This lineup of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Cross-Gen Bundle, Alan Wake Remastered, and Endling - Extinction is Forever is one of the best lineups PS Plus Essential has seen in months, so definitely pick up these games when they are available between July 4 and July 31. Make sure you download June's titles before July 4 as well.
