Everyone wants to get in shape, but few people want to spend hours at the gym during the week. In fact, most people simply do not have the time — between working and raising a family, free time is at a premium. So far, CES 2021 has seen a lot of products focused on the home gym, but the Xenoma e-Skin EMStyle sets itself apart from the rest of the products on the market. How would you feel about wearing something that packs 24 electrodes?
The e-skin EMStyle is a bodysuit that provides a full-body workout in just 20 minutes. You don’t have to attach cables to yourself or lift a lot of weights. You just need to do 20 minutes of cardio, and the suit will do the rest. There are 24 electrodes embedded throughout the suit that work to contract your muscles just like an intense workout would — minus the weights and the grunting. If you’ve ever tried out any of those abs stimulator contraptions, it works on the same premise.
The suit is designed to be stylish. It resembles a wetsuit in its fit and color, but Tron-esque accent lines along the suit hide the electrodes and target the major muscle groups of the body. The EMStyle Hub snaps onto the suit to power it. Xenoma tested the EMStyle Hub over 4,400 times, ensuring its durability and longevity. Work out as hard as you want — the Hub can handle it. (But you probably want to avoid swimming.)
The EMStyle Personal App allows you to track your progress and workouts through your phone. Keep track of the time of your workouts and what part of your body is being targeted.
When you’re done, just disconnect the EMStyle Hub and throw your suit in the wash. It’s machine washable, although there is no word on whether it can be machine dried or not.
While gyms are still closed, home workouts are the next best option — and a device like the Xenoma e-skin EMStyle can provide you with an intense workout and valuable feedback on those workouts without the need to step out of your living room. That said, if the idea of following a YouTube Zumba class doesn’t excite you, you can use the suit while running, cycling, and more. You’re more likely to stick with a workout you enjoy than one that bores you, so find a fun activity and give it a shot.
Sure, Xenoma’s bodysuit offers a tantalizing solution for those who don’t have time or motivation for exercising. However, we want to remind you to exercise caution here because of the potential safety concerns. We’ve reached out to find out more about it from Xenoma, but haven’t received a response.
