Fashionable Garmin Venu 2 offers up to 11 days of battery in smartwatch mode

Today is a good day to move, according to Garmin, which just announced the launch of the Venu 2 series of GPS smartwatches. There are two options to choose from. the Venu 2S and the Venu 2, both of which are packed with features to help you take full control of your physical health.

The Venu 2 has a battery life up to 11 days in smartwatch mode, although the life span is cut much shorter when it’s in GPS mode — only eight hours for the Venu 2 and seven hours for the Venu 2S. Need a speedy charge? Just 10 minutes will add one full day’s charge to the Garmin Venu 2; a full charge will take around four hours. These trackers monitor a wide range of metrics to give you a clear view of your body, including your Sleep Score, Fitness Age, and much more.

The Garmin Venu 2 can track your location thanks to its built-in GPS, allowing you to stay safe even if you’re out on a long run away from home. It also has more than 25 built-in workout apps including walking, running, cycling, HIIT, swimming, and more.

One of the more impressive features is the advanced strength training tracing. At a glance, you can see your personal records are for lifting, and it also demonstrates what muscle groups you worked out while strength training. It can be combined with the new HIIT workouts to track the number of rounds, your work/rest intervals, and more.

It also works as a smartwatch. You’ll receive smart notifications on your wrist so that you never miss a call, text, or social media alert. You can also download up to 650 songs straight to your watch, including playlists from Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer. You can connect wireless headphones directly to the Garmin Venu 2 to listen to your favorite tunes while you work out without the need for your watch.

You’ll be able to pay through Garmin Pay, too. No need to haul your wallet with you. If you want to personalize your watch, you can find custom watch faces, apps, and widgets through the Garmin Connect IQ store.

If you’re interested in picking up the Garmin Venu 2 for yourself, it’s now available for $400 in a variety of different configurations.

Garmin Instinct 2 series tipped to launch next month
A render of a Garmin Instinct 2 smartwatch.

The highly-anticipated Garmin Instinct 2 series will be released in February 2022, NoteBookCheck revealed. The rumor was confirmed by GadgetsandWearables, revealing that the Instinct 2 will come alongside an Instinct 2S version, since the base model is expected to be quite large and may not be suitable for all users. Both models will get four color options -- Solar, Camo, Surf, and Solar Surf, with the Instinct 2 having an additional "Solar Tactical" variant.
NoteBookCheck has also reported that one of the main selling points of this device will be its exceptional battery life. The Instinct 2 and its Camo and Surf versions will have a 28-day battery capacity, while the 2S will last for 21 days after a full charge. Meanwhile, all the Solar versions will be able to accommodate an essentially unlimited battery life after 3 hours of solar charging, as long as you can get regular access to the sun.

GadgetsandWearables has noted that all the watch variants are expected to be shock resistant, with up to 100 meters of water resistance. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection will be available, along with a strong fiber-reinforced polymer case. The watch will also have multiple global navigation satellite systems, such as GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo.
When it comes to sensors, the devices will possess an improved heart rate sensor, with refined blood oxygen and respiration tracking. VO2 Max, which is an assessment of a person's current fitness level, is available on both the Instinct 2 and Instinct 2S, unlike the previous versions. Additionally, there will be a sleep widget for accurate sleep tracking, which will share information on time spent during the various sleep stages.
The Instinct 2 will have several price points depending on the variant. The base Instinct 2 and Instinct 2S will be priced at $350 each. The surf and camo variants would cost you $400, with the Solar version a tad more at $450. Finally, the Solar Surf and Solar Tactical versions will be the costliest at $500 apiece. All the variants could have multiple colors, with official details expected soon from the company itself.

The Venu 2 Plus will be priced at $450, with the Vivomove Sport available for $180.The Venu 2 Plus is a part of the existing Venu 2 smartwatch series. It is currently available in three colors -- a silver-colored bezel with a powder gray case, a slate-stained bezel with a black case, and a cream gold bezel with a pure ivory color case. What separates the Venu 2 Plus from the Venu 2 series is its ability to take voice calls and the voice assistant feature that uses a built-in speaker and microphone. All of the fitness-tracking features from the Venu 2 series are present in its Plus model, including multiple outdoor workout modes. A single charge on the Venu 2 Plus helps it last for eight or nine days in GPS + Music mode. Its rapid charging feature helps the watch to last for an additional day after just a 10-minute charge. The Vivomove Sport is the latest model in Garmin's hybrid watch series, with the Vivomove Style model being one of its earliest devices during the series launch in September 2019. It is a hybrid smartwatch that comes in four colors. Its 40mm OLED display will be paired with silicone straps. The top half of the watch has an analog design, with the bottom half's touchscreen parameters visible. While you're interacting with the touchscreen, the watch hands move away for a bit to show regular details such as the heart rate, step count, and oxygen saturation levels (SpO2). The Vivomove Sport can track multiple fitness exercises and can be connected to a phone's GPS for tracking. While it cannot receive or place a call, it can receive incoming calls and message alerts. The phone has six days of battery life in analog watch mode, while it runs for a full five days in smartwatch mode.
