All the games that support AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution

AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) is here, promising up to a 2.5 times performance increase in supported games across Nvidia and AMD graphics cards. Not only are old and new games alike getting FSR support, but AMD is also improving FSR itself, which is now in version 2.0. Although FSR 2.0 doesn’t always look quite as good as Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), it has better support for GPUs from both graphics companies and for most will provide about the same image quality as Nvidia’s upscaler.

At the moment, the vast majority of games that support FSR use version 1.0, but that’s only because version 2.0 is much newer. Over the coming months, many games will be adding FSR 2.0 to its graphics options.

AMD FSR 2.0 games available now

Deathloop

Colt from Deathloop aiming his pistol.

Deathloop was the first game to demonstrate FSR 2.0, and it did not disappoint. When it comes to both performance and image quality, FSR 2.0 is pretty much as good as DLSS and is also a massive improvement over FSR 1.0. If all FSR 2.0 implementations are as good as Deathloop’s, that bodes very well for upcoming titles.

Farming Simulator 22

Farming Simulator 22 is another game that supports both FSR 2.0 and DLSS. In its review, TechPowerUp found that FSR 2.0 is very similar to DLSS in both performance and image quality, and also that FSR 2.0 fixed graphical issues that are observed in FSR 1.0.

God of War

Initially, God of War supported DLSS and FSR 1.0 (the latter of which looked terrible), so it surprised many when the developer suddenly updated the game to include FSR 2.0. AMD had even made a list of upcoming games that would eventually support FSR 2.0, and God of War wasn’t on it. Perhaps this is an indication that adding FSR 2.0 to existing games isn’t all that difficult.

AMD FSR 2.0 games coming soon

A plane turns upside down in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

So far, AMD has confirmed 10 more games to get FSR 2.0:

  • Asterigos
  • Delysium
  • EVE Online
  • Forspoken
  • Grounded
  • Hitman 3
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • NiShuiHan
  • Overprime
  • Perfect World Remake
  • Super People
  • Swordsman Remake
  • Unknown 9: Awakening

Of these games, five haven’t been released yet and two are MMOs that haven’t even gotten a release date. It is a bit concerning AMD’s list is so short and names only niche titles, but if God of War’s FSR 2.0 update isn’t a one-off thing, then perhaps we can expect FSR 2.0 to make its way into other games too.

AMD’s new graphics cards are sold out, and scalpers are already charging twice the price
Listings for AMD's RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT graphics cards.

AMD's new RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT graphics cards went on sale Tuesday morning, but they sold out in a flash. Some retailers only had cards in stock for a few minutes, and although there are a few stragglers, it's clear AMD's latest graphics cards are popular.

If you were hoping to score the RX 7900 XTX, you're out of luck. It's sold out at every retailer I checked, including AMD's own website. I queued on AMD's website for an hour to buy a card, but only the weaker RX 7900 XT was still in stock. It sold out during the course of writing this article. As you can read in our RX 7900 XTX versus RX 7900 XT comparison, the XTX model is a clear favorite.

AMD ramps up RX 7900 XT power requirements
RX 7900 XTX slotted into a test bench.

AMD's RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT launch on Tuesday, December 13, but before you pick up a card, you need to know about an important change on what could be two of the best graphics cards of the year. AMD raised the Total Board Power (TBP) on the RX 7900 XT.

When AMD announced the RX 7900 XT, it said the card would have a TBP of 300 watts. The release version goes slightly higher to 315W. AMD says the change is due to disappointing performance for the RX 7900 XT compared to the RX 7900 XTX, so it increased the power draw slightly to give the lower-end card a little extra juice.
