Fable 3 Intro Trailer Debuts

Fable III is still a few months away, but for those that simply cannot wait, Lionhead Studios has released the opening cinematic for the upcoming Fable sequel.

Building off the success of the first two games in the franchise, while simultaneously reinventing itself, Fable III takes place at the dawn of the industrial age in Albion. Set 50 years after the events of Fable II, the country is ruled by the main character’s tyrant brother, Logan. You soon unseat him and rule the kingdom, and a foreign nation called Aurora attacks.

As with the previous games, you choose whether you want to follow a good path, or an evil one, but Fable III has a larger scale than the previous entries. In the past, your actions would cause people to react to you based on the choices you made. They might run, or they might greet you with joy, for example. In Fable III, your actions impact entire areas. If you are a good king, your kingdom will prosper. If you are greedy, areas will become depressed and derelict.

3 games leaving Xbox Game Pass to play this weekend (September 6-8)

While Age of Mythology: Retold launched on Xbox Game Pass on September 4, several games are also leaving the service. In just over a week, five games will be removed from Xbox Game Pass. This happens around every 15 days, so there's nothing out of the ordinary here. Still, some notable games are leaving the service on September 15, so you should check them out before they are gone. I want to highlight three of those games, ranging from a clever indie to a tense multiplayer game. Check them out this weekend, and if you really enjoy them, you can buy them at a 20% discount while they're still in Xbox Game Pass.
Payday 3

Payday 3 is the latest entry in Starbreeze's long-running first-person shooter series where players work together to pull off heists. For example, you'll work with others to scope out a bank before donning masks, holding people hostage, stealing money, and making a quick escape from the police. It's a tense multiplayer game where failure is likely, and I've had a good time with it. Admittedly, Payday 3 doesn't quite live up to its predecessor, but as something to play free of charge on Xbox Game Pass, it's entertaining enough. The PC and Xbox Series X/S versions of Payday 3 leave Xbox Game Pass on September 15. After that, the game will still be available for purchase on those platforms and PlayStation 5.

Is Borderlands 3 cross-platform?

The original Borderlands was the first game to popularize the looter shooter genre that mixes first-person shooting with the satisfying loot grind of Diablo 4. While many other games, such as Destiny 2 and The First Descendant, have taken the genre in the live-service direction, the Borderlands games have remained focused on the core single and co-op experience. Borderlands 3 in particular is a far better experience playing with friends than alone. Since it came out at such an odd time, this game is spread across not only all consoles, but also multiple generations. That means it has a lot more work to do if it is going to be a fully cross-platform game. Let's see if it manages to bring all the systems together, or id ut leaves some on their own like Valorant.

Yes, Borderlands 3 features full cross-platform support for all systems. This wasn't always the case, but as of 2022, you can now play with friends on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC either on Steam or Epic.

The original The Last of Us ended ambiguously, but didn't necessitate a sequel. However, Neil Druckmann and the team at Naughty Dog felt there were more stories to tell in that world, resulting in the equally impressive The Last of Us Part 2. Unlike the first game, though, the sequel left many questions unanswered that demanded at least one more installment.

Initially, the team was working on a multiplayer spinoff called The Last of Us Online, however, we now know that project has been abandoned and the team is once again focusing on single-player games. One of those games is indeed The Last of Us Part 3. While it was initially ambiguous, we can now for sure say a third chapter is on the way, but what other bits of information have we been able to scavenge while sneaking around Clickers?
