Everything we know about Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Ever wonder which one of your favorite Nickelodeon characters would come out on top in a fight? Nickelodeon just announced a new Super Smash Bros-like fighting game, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl , which will give you a chance to see which cartoons are the ultimate fighters.

While the idea of a Nickelodeon-themed fighter is a little silly, players in the fighting game community are keeping an open mind and believe the new title could be a legitimate competitive experience. The Super Smash Bros. series has been wildly successful after all. Is there really much of a difference between Isabelle from Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the Wii Fit Trainer squaring up in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and a showdown between Spongebob Squarepants and Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Not really! Of course, the popularity of the game will ultimately come down to the quality of the game — balanced characters, serious mechanics, and a robust player base.

The Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl  trailer gives us a montage of the game’s premier characters, as well as a bit of gameplay footage. It also teases “many more surprises,” so who knows what we’ll get when the game actually launches.

It’s being developed by Ludosity and Fair Play Labs, and published by GameMill Entertainment.

From what we get in the announcement trailer, it looks like gameplay in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will look really similar to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Four characters at a time will duke it out in arenas themed after Nickelodeon’s various shows until someone comes out on top. Each character will certainly have their own custom moveset that is true to their on-screen adventures. (We’re totally expecting Spongebob to have an OP bubble-blowing ranged attack.) According to reports, some additional moves can be unlocked for each character, although it’s unclear how that mechanic will work at this time.

The game will include 20 Nickelodeon-themed fighting stages at launch.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will be playable in single-player or multiplayer, both local and online. Like any fighting title, multiplayer is going to be the focus, and the player base is going to be key to the game’s success. There’s no word on what online matchmaking will look like or if there will be any sort of ranking system at this point.

Is Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl cross-platform?

No word yet on whether or not Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will be cross-platformWe’re hesitantly optimistic that the game being released on all major platforms means that crossplay between them all might be worked out, but there’s been no official mention of it so far.

DLC

If Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl follows the same path as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there will likely be DLC characters and stages available down the road. Although we’ve got quite a list of fighters so far, there are definitely other Nickelodeon characters we’d love to see make an appearance.

Pre-order

Pre-orders for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl  are available at most major retailers right now. Be sure to pre-order if you want to land some high-flying karate kicks with Sandy Cheeks on launch day!

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater: everything we know so far
Snake holding a gun and knife.

Kept you waiting, huh? That's right, Snake is back and looking better than ever. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a project that was rumored for a long time before being officially announced recently. This remake of the hit PlayStation 2 title, which was the third mainline entry in the Metal Gear Solid franchise, is often considered the best by fans and critics alike. However, with the departure of series creator Hideo Kojima from Konami, the idea of a remake being handled by a different team was met with skepticism. It seems that Konami is confident in the project, so we'll just have to wait until we get our hands on it to see how the final product shakes out. Here's everything we know about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
Release date window

There hasn't been a solid release date listed for this remake, but Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was quietly featured in an official Sony video previewing 2024 releases. Pending any delays, it sounds like we'll get to play the remake this year.
Platforms
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is currently confirmed for all current-gen systems, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: everything we know so far
The two heroes of Assassin's Creed Shadows stand side by side.

Previously known by the code name Assassin's Creed Red, Assassin's Creed Shadows will be the latest entry in the long-running Assassin's saga. Ubisoft let us know we would be getting the world premiere trailer first, but it turns out there was a lot more to show than just a first glimpse at the game. We've managed to gather all the footage and information shared online to deliver you the goods about Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Release date

Assassin's Creed Shadows was intended to launch on November 15, 2024, however, it got hit with a delay in September. The game will now come out three months later on February 14, 2025 -- just in time for Valentine's Day.

Dishonored 3: everything we know so far
Key art for Dishonored

The Dishonored series has always been a critical darling, and it has cultivated a small, but passionate fan base. The original game got some DLC, a sequel in Dishonored 2, and one last entry called Death of the Outsider in 2017, but since then the franchise has remained dormant. The studio's latest game, Deathloop, shares some DNA with Dishonored, but is certainly its own beast. However, since the success of that new IP far exceeded anything Dishonored had achieved, many fans felt we'd never return to Dunwall to see the conclusion of the story. That sentiment only got more traction after Arkane Austin was shut down in 2024, but it was actually Arkane Lyon that made the Dishonoredgames, so hope isn't quite dead yet. Thanks to the recent leak of some court documents related to the Activision purchase by Xbox, which owns Dishonored publisher Bethesda, new hope has appeared for the existence of Dishonored 3.
Release window

According to the leaked documents, which we should still take with skepticism until an official public statement is made, Dishonored 3 is currently planned for a "FY24E" release. FY24E is shorthand for Fiscal Year 2024, which runs between April 2024 and March 2025. Considering how close we are to the end of that planned time frame with no announcement, we assume this timeline has been pushed back at least a year.
Platforms
Again, this is just speculation until the game is officially confirmed, but considering that Xbox owns publisher Bethesda, Dishonored 3 is almost certainly going to be an Xbox console exclusive with a PC port. However, it may only be a timed console exclusive as more Xbox games are coming to PS5. It should also be available as a day one Game Pass title, as all Xbox first-party titles are.
Trailers
As mentioned, Dishonored 3 isn't even meant to be known about publicly yet, so no marketing exists for the game. All we have is the name.
