Dying Light gets one more update ahead of Dying Light 2 release

Even with Dying Light 2‘s release date mere months away, Techland is keeping fans of the first game in the franchise well-fed. A new in-game event for Dying Light, titled Low Gravity, is adding new extra-terrestrial enemies to the game, along with some new content that comes free with the game and a small paid expansion pack.

Dying Light – Astronaut Bundle Trailer

The Low Gravity event, which starts today, combines aliens with the game’s undead. A crash-landed alien spaceship means there are now zombie aliens that players will have to contend with. Thankfully, some kind of gravitational effect has also been applied to the city and its surrounding area, changing many of the game’s mechanics. Throughout Harran, players will be able to jump higher, take less fall damage, and hurl themselves towards enemies with the grappling hook.

New local and global challenges have also been added to the game, which can be completed to earn new upgrades.

Along with the Low Gravity event, a new expansion bundle has been added to Dying Light, simply titled Astronaut. While it doesn’t add any extra content to the game, the Astronaut bundle will let players dress up their characters as futuristic space travelers. Along with a spacesuit skin, the bundle, which costs just $3, includes a futuristic sword, laser rifle, and a pistol that sends enemies flying into the air.

Today’s update for Dying Light may very well be its last. The game’s sequel, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, is set to release on December 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gets wild gameplay trailer, but no release date
Kraven the Hunter appears in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Insomniac Games showed off a new gameplay trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 during Sony's May 2023 PlayStation Showcase. The action-packed clip showed off its villain, the iconic Kraven the Hunter, but it didn't give the game a release date. It's still only scheduled for fall 2023.

The new trailer gave us our closest glimpse at Sony's upcoming release we've seen yet. It begins with a very cinematic clip showing off classic Spider-Man villain Kraven the Hunter. From there, we flash-forward a bit to New York City, where we see Peter Parker and Miles Morales working together to save the city. Parker has a fancy new black suit with a lot of wild powers. In the trailer, we see multiple black spider arms coming out of it and slamming enemies.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2: release date speculation, trailers, gameplay, and more
Senua stares at a burning tree in Hellblade 2.

Given how impressive Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was, it seemed inevitable that there would be a sequel. The game, despite being made independently by Ninja Theory, blew even the highest-budget games on the market out of the water in terms of graphical fidelity and storytelling. Microsoft must have realized this potential as well and outright purchased the studio to not only provide a bigger budget to the team for the eventual sequel, but also tosecure it as a console exclusive for its then-unreleased Xbox Series X and S systems.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 was one of the earliest games shown off for the Xbox Series X and S, and was even initially thought to be one of the system's launch titles. That didn't come to pass, but the team has taken that extra time to craft this sequel into something that looks to be even more impressive than the original. Between the first Game Awards event where the game was announced and the latest footage we've seen, we have a very solid understanding of the important details surrounding this sequel. We have all the information you need to know about Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.

You can get Dying Light: Enhanced Edition for free this weekend
Dying Light screenshot 2

The Epic Games Store is celebrating Easter weekend with some free games. From now until Thursday, April 13, players can get Dying Light: Enhanced Edition for free on PC.

Dying Light is a 2015 first-person survival game that has players killing zombies and parkouring around a city. The Enhanced Edition features extra content, including its 2016 expansion Dying Light: The Following. It's a well-timed freebie considering that it was developed by Dead Island developer Techland, and a sequel to that game launches in just a few weeks (though it's being handled by Dambuster Studios).
