NordVPN 2-year plan

— $99

If you’ve gotten this far, you probably know what a VPN is, but let’s do a little recap. Virtual Private Networks are software that let you mask the location of your computer by routing it through servers around the world. Some of the most common uses for VPNs are protecting your private info when using public Wi-Fi, hiding your location from spying eyes, or simply changing your location to England so you can watch more British sitcoms on Netflix. VPNs are a good idea for everyone, regardless of your perceived threat level. Identity thieves and hackers don’t discriminate.

A lot of people worry that routing their connection through various servers will slow them down. NordVPN prides itself on being the fastest VPN out there. So while it’s true that you can’t reach the same speeds as a direct connection, with NordVPN you’ll still be able to stream movies and download files without a noticeable drop in speed. You’ll have uninterrupted streaming with little to no buffering.

— $59

One year of NordVPN is just under $59. So if you’re not ready to jump for the full two years, you can test the service out for just one. Of course, with two years costing only $99, you can basically get a second year for only $40. Both of these deals will let you disguise your IP address on a phone or computer, up to six devices in total. Get one year of VPN protection when you click the button below.

Best Buy is countering Prime Day with a killer Dyson hair dryer deal
Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer on a white background.

Prime Day is here, and with all of the Prime Day deals to sort through, it can be easy to overlook deals taking place at retailers other than Amazon. Best Buy is getting in on the Prime Day discounts with a deal on a great piece of household tech. The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer was a pretty revolutionary product when it first hit the market, and today you can grab it for a massive savings of $100. This discount brings its price down to $330, while it would normally set you back $430. This Prime Day deal is exclusive to the vinca blue and rose-colored model, and with free shipping included it’s one of the best Dyson deals you’ll find during Prime Day.

Why you should get the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer
While Dyson is primarily known for making some of the best vacuums available on the market, it’s also known for ingenuity and innovation, and it brings both of those characteristics to the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. This hair dryer is engineered to protect hair from extreme heat damage, yet is still able to dry it quickly. It does this by measuring air temperature 20 times every second, and keeping it under control. This process allows you to style your hair while drying, and its ability to focus air at high velocity allows you to style one section of your hair at a time.

You can buy a MacBook Air for $299 for Prime Day – but should you?
Restored Apple MacBook Air and Airpods with mouse and black cas

There's a growing industry of refurbished and restored electronics, and while that usually doesn't engender a lot of faith from consumers, they're well worth considering if you're on a tight budget. Luckily, there are a lot of great deals for refurbished products during the Walmart Prime Day sale, such as this MacBook Air bundle. You can grab for $299 rather than the usual $399, but you might want first to consider a couple of different options. It's important to note, though, that this deal is only going available for Walmart Plus subscribers, but you can grab a , which is a great deal in and of itself.

Why you shouldn't buy this MacBook Air
The biggest issue with this MacBook Air is that it's quite outdated for several years, and it can't even run the latest MacOS 14, so you're going to be missing out on a lot of features. Since this is a version of the Macbook Air that was discontinued after 2017, you're likely getting a 7th Gen Intel i5, at best, and more likely, it's a 6th Gen. There's also the issue that the 1.6Ghz CPU version of the Macbook air was part of the 2010-2017 run that had performance issues due to overheating and the CPU having to be throttled. While these aren't massive issues, especially since you're getting generic earbuds and a mouse bundled in, it's not an ideal deal if you're looking for something more modern that will stand the test of time.
