Want to know what Max Payne 3 looks like? You’re not alone. Your wish will be granted next week when Rockstar Games unleashes the trailer for its action-shooter, the latest in a series that hasn’t been seen since 2003.

The trailer is coming on September 14, next Wednesday, at 12 p.m. EST. Rockstar also confirmed earlier this week that Max Payne 3 will be out sometime in March 2012. The same press release revealed that the game will include an extensive multiplayer mode, with player progression and all of the other dangling carrots we’ve gotten used to.

The third game in the series picks up roughly a decade after the events of the previous game. Max is no longer an NYPD cop and has in fact left the country entirely for a gig protecting a wealthy family in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Then some stuff happens, and Max shoots a lot of people in bullet-time. Spoiler alert?

The new game is built on Rockstar’s RAGE engine, the same one that powered the studio’s Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption. Early previews have pointed to those two games as a good barometer of what to expect on the visual side of things. That’s just fine too, considering that Rockstar’s 2008 and 2010 releases are still among this generation’s best-looking games.

Xcom Marvel Game E3 Leak

The Avengers might be making an appearance at this year's E3 -- just not how you would expect. According to a leak of 2K's E3 plans posted on Reddit, Firaxis, the developer behind the XCOM franchise, is working on a turn-based game with Marvel characters.

According to the leak, the title from Firaxis is currently in development and code-named CODA. The leaker's source described it as "XCOM with Marvel heroes," and said that some "famous actors are voicing the characters." All signs in this case point to Marvel's Avengers, but with the size of the Marvel universe, the characters could easily be from the X-Men or the Fantastic Four.

five more 2k games nintendo switch tales from the borderlands rhys action 1

Later this month, the Nintendo Switch's game line-up is going to get even better, thanks to the releases of 2K Games gems BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, and XCOM 2 Collection. You might be familiar with 2K as a sports game publisher, but the company is so much more than that. In its portfolio is a diverse lineup of games -- some that are trapped on older hardware.

What better way for them to get a second life than to be re-released (and possibly remastered) for the Nintendo Switch? Considering the platform has sold extremely well, it's clear that porting older games to it can be a smart business move, as well as a way to gauge interest in a possible followup. Just look at the success of DOOM (2016), The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and L.A. Noire -- all games that got an extra boost in sales due to their re-releases on Nintendo Switch. In this list, we'll go through another handful of 2K-published games that should most definitely get a second life on the handheld hybrid.
