Xbox Game Pass new games: what’s new and what’s leaving in April 2023

While Microsoft was been hit with criticism for the Xbox Series X’s slow-growing exclusive lineup — several highly anticipated titles like Bethesda’s Starfield and co-op shooter Redfall have been pushed to later in 2023 — the company is still delivering one of the best deals in gaming: Xbox Game Pass.

Game Pass gives gamers access to a massive library of games that includes throwback hits, brand-new titles on release day, and indie darlings. These games can be played on Xbox consoles, PC, mobile, and even Steam Deck.

New titles are being added to Game Pass every month and others are taken off, similar to how Netflix works, so it’s crucial to stay on top of library changes to make sure you don’t miss out on that title that’s been on your to-play list. Check back toward the end of every month for a complete list of new additions and removals from the Game Pass roster.

It's October, which means it's Call of Duty season for Xbox and Activision. So expectedly, Xbox Game Pass' offerings for the second half of the month into November are all about Activision Blizzard.

October 25 is the big day for Call of Duty fans. The next entry in the shooter series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, is hitting cloud, console, and PC for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. Modern Warfare 3, which was the first Call of Duty game added to the service in July, is also specifically coming to Xbox Cloud Gaming on October 25, along with Call of Duty Warzone.

Microsoft has really been focusing a lot lately on it's gaming division when it comes to things like the Xbox Series X or Series S consoles, but one of the biggest offerings it has going is the Xbox Game Pass service. Besides being required to access online multiplayer on the Xbox Series consoles, which is a bit of a shame, you also can get access to a pretty sizeable game library. Granted, you aren't always going to get the latest games, but if you don't buy games often, having this option is great for a little bit of extra each month. Sony actually has a similar service in the form of the PS Plus, but the difference is that there is also an Xbox Game Pass subscription service for PCs as well, so PC gamers can access the library.

Xbox Partner Preview October 2024: how to watch and what to expect

Microsoft has announced that the next Xbox Partner Preview will take place in just a few days. It promises a 25-minute presentation featuring both new and announced games from teams such as Remedy, Sega, 505 Games, and more. Xbox has shown off many of its first-party projects at multiple summer showcases such as Summer Game Fest, Gamescom, and even Tokyo Game Show, but this presentation will be all about third-party games coming to the Xbox platform. This partner showcase is promised to be "no-fluff, all-games" and includes first looks at gameplay for Alan Wake 2's The Lake House expansion, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, and "multiple" world premieres.
