Walgreens and Kicksend partner up for photo printing straight from your iPhone

Photo sharing and printing just got much more convenient. Drugstore giant Walgreens has teamed up with photography site Kicksend to roll out a new update that will allow Kicksend users to make printing orders directly through their iOS app.

Kicksend users can send up to 30 photos at a time to their nearest Walgreens chains and information will be retrieved in the photo department much like it would if you ordered it on a desktop computer. Users can scroll through the album and check mark their selections, then look for a Walgreens logo button to send their order. Like most digital print processes, these pictures can also be available for pickup as early as one hour after the order is confirmed.

This is a neat expansion for both Kicksend and Walgreens; it seems as though digital printing used to be a bit of a pain when one would have to manually upload photos from their cameras, edit, then upload again onto Walgreens’ photo website. With the Kicksend app as the middle man, everything is more seamless. You can also edit your photos in app filters like Instagram first uploading to Kicksend then sending them to Walgreens, giving you cheap Instagram prints whenever you need them. Imagine going on a photo shoot date with a love interest and having photos ready for pick up by the end of your day. Who needs to wait around to send prints from home?

“We’re all about empowering everyday people to stay in touch with people they care about, and our brand new, incredibly seamless photo printing experience through Walgreens’ QuickPrints is a big step in that direction,” Kicksend co-founder and CEO Pradeep Elankumaran said. “There is no better way to share and keep your memories with the people you love.”

It is currently unclear when the Walgreens QuickPrints feature will arrive to Kicksend’s Android version of the app, but for iPad and iPhone users, expect the latest update to show on your device today. If you don’t already have the app, download it for free here.

Switching phones is never a smooth process, even if you’re switching between two different Android phones. According to an APK teardown from Android Authority, Google’s Data Transfer Tool will finally resolve the problem of migrating iOS Live Photos to Android. It will do this by converting them over as Motion Photos.

How to transfer photos from an iPhone to a computer

As the old saying goes, the best camera is the one you always have with you. If you're like most iPhone users, that means you've likely amassed a sizeable collection of photos on your device. However, while Apple's Photos app is a great way to manage and view your photo library, it's never a good idea to keep all your eggs in one basket. After all, suffering a lost or broken iPhone is painful enough without also losing all your precious digital memories in the process.

Even if you're backing up your iPhone to iCloud or your computer, it's a good idea to keep your photos backed up separately. After all, opening a folder or a photo management app is a much easier way to get at your photos than trying to extract them from an iCloud or iTunes/Finder backup, which requires either restoring them to another iPhone or relying on special software tools.
