The next Yellowstone? Landman’s release date and first images suggest another big hit show

Paramount+ announced on Tuesday that Landman, a new drama series from Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan, will premiere on Sunday, November 17, 2024.

Per Paramount, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas. The series is an “upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.” Landman is based on the podcast Boomtown, an 11-part series by Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly about big oil in the Permian Basin.

Landman stars Oscar-winner Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, a crisis executive at an oil company. Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, and Demi Moore also star. Jon Hamm will appear in a recurring guest role, while Andy Garcia and Michael Peña will serve as guest stars.

Landman is created and executive produced by Sheridan, who continues adding TV shows to his impressive résumé at Paramount Network and Paramount+. Sheridan’s shows include Yellowstone, 1883, 1923, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lioness, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves. Yellowstone airs on Paramount Network, while the rest stream directly on Paramount+.

Besides Sheridan, executive producers of Landman include David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Christian Wallace, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, Stephen Kay, Dan Friedkin, Jason Hoch, Christian Wallace, J.K. Nickell, and Megan Creydt. Boomtown podcast host Christian Wallace is also listed as an executive producer on Landman. Peter Feldman serves as co-executive producer.

Landman‘s first two episodes stream to Paramount+ on November 17. Subsequent episodes will be available weekly on Sundays. Landman‘s first season consists of 10 episodes.

Syfy reveals first images and release date for The Ark season 2

The crew aboard Ark One is ready for more space adventures in The Ark season 2. The second season of the hit sci-fi show premieres at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Wednesday, July 17, on Syfy. All episodes will be available to stream on Peacock seven days after air.

Set 100 years in the future, planetary colonization missions have started to ensure the survival of the human race. In the explosive season 1 finale, the crew on Ark One reached Proxima B, a potential new home for the residents of Earth. However, Proxima B exploded, destroying any chance of habitation. To make matters worse, the ensuing blast damaged Ark One.

Everything coming to PBS in November 2024

There are no new British dramas premiering on PBS in November, but there's more than enough programming to see you through the penultimate month of 2024. Ken Burns is premiering his new documentary, Leonardo da Vinci, about the world's most famous Renaissance man, artist, and inventor. And PBS has several other documentary and nature programs slated to run throughout the month.

PBS' non-partisan coverage of the 2024 presidential election will culminate on Tuesday, November 5. But if you're really missing your British dramas, there are encore presentations of All Creatures Great & Small and Call the Midwife coming as well.

What’s new on Amazon Prime Video in November 2024

James Patterson's Alex Cross character is getting a third chance in live-action this month on Amazon Prime Video. Morgan Freeman and Tyler Perry have previously portrayed the titular detective character. Now, Black Adam's Aldis Hodge steps into the role. The new Cross series is Prime Video's biggest debut in November, but far from the only noteworthy addition. There are a lot of new additions to the streamer's movie lineup, including The Godfather trilogy, Silver Linings Playbook, and the unconventional vampire film Abigail.

Additionally, Prime Video is rebooting Cruel Intentions as a drama series, which has the potential to be another big hit for the streamer. And aside from Die Hard, there are only a handful of Christmas titles coming this month. We can appreciate a little restraint, especially since December will likely be a very different story.
