Motorhead singer to turn up the volume with launch of Motorheadphones

Plenty of musicians have shilled products with their name on it over the years, with artists like Kiss creating a cottage industry in the process. While we also expect this sort of behavior today from the likes of Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga, respectable and relevant contemporary artists such as Dr. Dre, 50 cent and Ludacris have also pimped out headphones bearing their famous monikers.

Perhaps not wanting to be left behind in rock and roll oblivion, Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister will introduce Motorheadphones at next month’s International CES. The aging British heavy metal rocker, who has been adding umlauts to song and album titles alike for nearly four decades, noted that these headphones are aimed at serious rock connoisseurs.

“These new headphones are not like the weak-kneed, lily-livered, tin-pot, skinny sounding little pieces of garbage out on the market today,” said Kilmister. “We designed these headphones to deliver everything louder than anything else and with the sort of range, clarity and TRUE rock reproduction you’d expect from a band of warriors like us.”

The Motorheadphones, which are being produced by Swedish-based Krusell International AB, were reportedly developed with the help of sound expert Anders Nicklasson, with additional input from Motorhead.

We’re not exactly sure how a band that is known for its excessive volume, to the point that Lemmy once proclaimed he wanted to create music that was “ loud that if we move in next door to you, your lawn will die” are the right guys to talk about sound quality. Krusell claims that the headphones offer the same quality as “professional studio” headphones, and while Motorhead might not be racing up the charts the band has spent a lot of time in the studio.

The Motorheadphones will also be about branding we suspect; something for those aging metal fans to feel a connection to the past while listening to music on an iPad or smartphone. To that end there will be multiple models of the Motorheadphones ranging in price from $50 to $130.

While already released in Europe the line will make its debut in North America at CES, but perhaps Lemmy just wanted an excuse to play his biggest hit and Motorhead anthem “Ace of Spaces” in Las Vegas!

Best gaming TVs of 2024 for Xbox Series X, PS5, and more
LG C4 OLED

The best TVs should look great, sound fantastic, and feature numerous optimizations for the types of content people love watching most. And while it would easy to say that a TV billed as 4K is all you need for a great gaming TV, pixel count is just one checkbox. If you’re a diehard gamer (console or PC), there are plenty of other picture specifications to consider when buying a new TV. And while 4K resolution is still essential, features such as HDR (high dynamic range), input lag, and response time are far more critical tech specs to gamers who want their games to be smooth, fast, and looking as good as they can.

Not all TVs are created equal, and even some of the best TV brands have one or two sets that aren’t great for gaming. That’s why we’ve put together this list of all the best gaming TVs you can buy in 2024. With options from Samsung, Sony, LG, Hisense, and TCL, there’s a gaming TV on this list for just about everyone.
