LG Optimus G Pro coming to AT&T May 10

AT&T has announced that it will carry the LG Optimus G Pro (read our review here), LG’s stab at taking on the Galaxy Note 2. It’s available exclusively from AT&T for $200 with a two-year contract beginning May 10. Pre-orders will be taken here starting Friday, May 3, and those who order early will get a free Quick Cover black folio case, while supplies last.

Backed by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.7GHz quad-core processor with 2 GB of RAM, the G Pro sports a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 LCD screen. It also has two cameras – a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, along with a Dual Recording feature allowing for simultaneous recording on both cameras.

Other features sported by the LG Optimus G Pro include QuickRemote, which uses the built-in Infrared (IR) sensor to turn the device into a Universal Remote Control for compatible TVs, Blu-Ray players, cable boxes, and other gadgets. There’s also QSlide 2.0, which lets you overlay up to three applications in one window, and adjust their transparency, as well as new drawing and note-taking software like QuickMemo and VuTalk.

The OnePlus 10 Pro is now $799 — and a great reason to avoid the 10T

OnePlus is ready to put its latest budget flagship - the OnePlus 10T – on the shelves in the U. S. and elsewhere. For an asking price of $650, you get some impressive tricks such as support for 125W charging, the fastest chip on Qualcomm’s menu, and a 120Hz OLED display (among other things). From the looks of it, the OnePlus 10T seems like a true return to form for the brand. I think it's a compelling retelling of OnePlus's flagship killer journey in the industry. Especially compared to the 10 Pro from earlier this year.

The quest for making an all-out Android flagship ballooned the price tag past the budget of OnePlus’ most loyal audience. The OnePlus 10 Pro grabbed the spotlight with its Hasselblad cameras and striking design, but its starting price of $899 was tough to swallow. With the OnePlus 10T, a few corners have been cut (read: no wireless charging, no alert slider, and less serious camera hardware), but the $650 asking price is too tempting to miss out on this phone. But only if the OnePlus 10 Pro did not exist.

The OnePlus 10 Pro is on offer as part of Amazon’s Prime Day 2022, but we’re not going to suggest you buy it, because if you dig around a little more, there’s a better offer on a different OnePlus phone. The OnePlus 9 Pro may be a phone from 2021, but at $699, it’s yours for a very good price, and you get the top version the company made.

OnePlus has reduced the OnePlus 10 Pro to $799 for Prime Day, but for this you get the 8GB/128GB model and not the top -- and recently released -- 12GB/256GB version. For that, you’ll have to pay $969. The $699 OnePlus 9 Pro has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space, but we're not recommending it because of the RAM. It’s the additional storage that’s important here. Neither OnePlus phone has a MicroSD card slot, so you’ve only got the internal storage to rely on. It's a good plan to get as much as possible.

Apple is reportedly planning to launch an iPad Pro refresh that will bring both wireless charging and the new M2 chip to Apple's tablet lineup. In the Q&A section of Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter, the ever-reliable Mark Gurman says that an iPad Pro upgrade will break cover sometime in September or October.

Adding more about the upcoming tablet, Gurman mentions that we'll see 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro updates, both powered by the M2 silicon. The next-gen M-series chip was revealed at Apple’s WWDC event earlier this month and has already found its way inside the redesigned MacBook Air and the 13-inch MacBook Pro refresh.
