Turtle Beach is among the first confirmed manufacturers of gaming headsets that support Microsoft’s newly announced Xbox One console, the peripheral maker confirms. There are no details at this time on the planned product lineup, but more will be revealed at E3 in June 2013.
“Turtle Beach is dedicated to creating audio products that improve players overall game experience,” chief marketing officer Bob Picunko said in a prepared statement. “We are very excited about the opportunity to work with the Xbox team to develop new products that support the advanced Xbox platform.”
Turtle Beach is one of the leading gaming headset manufacturers on the market, with a variety of products supporting multiple platforms. The company’s press release happily reminds us that 9 out of 10 of 2012’s best-selling headsets came from Turtle Beach. There’s also an established history on Microsoft’s console, with the Ear Force X12 counted as the best-selling third-party headset available for Xbox 360.
No surprises here. Turtle Beach won’t be the only peripheral maker bringing gaming headsets and whatever else to the Xbox One. It is the first confirmed third-party peripheral partnership, however. Expect to see plenty more announcements like this now that the manufacturing and development side of the industry can speak freely about the Xbox One.
