The small, high-performance antenna for Sirus, the popular commercial free satellite radio station, is being touted as the thinnest available for satellite radio. Disc-shaped, it has been designed by Sirenza for optimal receiving and amplification of the satellite signals and terrestrial repeaters. The disc form factor is the first of it’s kind. The antennae is mounted magnetically to the roof of vehicles, and is designed to operated with many Sirius radio receivers.
“We are very enthusiastic about the successful introduction and production ramp of this state-of-the-art active antenna, and about the potential future development of products for SIRIUS,†said Robert Van Buskirk, President and CEO of Sirenza.
The new ultra-low profile antenna will be available this summer. It will be included with several “Plug & Play†radios in a promotion, but is also will be offered separately.
