If you are WellPoint health benefits subscriber you’ll be interested in this story. Your health insurance provider has teamed with leading online health information company WebMD to begin providing more information and personalization options to the 28.5 million subscribers that WellPoint services.
The two companies, according to a press release, have entered into a three year agreement in which WebMD will have their online health platform and Web services integrated into WellPoint’s personalized member Website. Key components of the new offering will include expanded health content, condition databases, personal health records and online health risk assessments. The integration is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
WellPoint is a Blue Cross and Blue Shield licensee across many states, including California, Colorado, Georgia, Maine and Nevada.
