Hollywood-Level DVD Authoring? DVD It?

Sonic Solutions announced the launch of DVDit Pro 6, the latest edition of their DVDauthoring software solution today.

Citing a list of new features and improvements, Sonic claim that the release of DVDit Pro 6, represents the most significant update to date of their DVDit Pro range.

Implemented with numerous features to allow creative professionals and enthusiasts alike to produce enthralling and high quality DVDs, Sonic are making noise about the inclusion of their eDVD 4solution with the new release.

Currently being paraded at the Wedding & Event Video Association (WEVA) Expo 2005 in Las Vegas, Sonic also boast, amongst others, the implementation of a new professional user interface, multipleaudio and subtitle track support, flexible OpenDVD support and professional mastering features which contribute to Hollywood-level authoring results achievable by DVDit Pro 6.

Commenting on the release of DVDit Pro 6, Richard Doherty, director of the Envisioneering Group said ‘Sonic’s DVDit Pro 6 has wedded powerful, easy-to-use DVD creation tools with web-connectivity,enabling both enthusiasts and professionals to produce great looking DVDs with interactive links to enhanced web-based imagery and assets,’

Priced at $399 MSRP for DVDit Pro 6, a standard edition will also be available at a MRSP of $299. Registered owners of previous versions of DVDit and eDVD are eligible for special upgrade pricingbeing offered by Sonic. Worth it? According to Richard Doherty it is. ‘‘We expect these powerful new DVDit Pro 6 capabilities will pay for themselves many times over for event videographers and DVDprofessionals, resulting in repeat business and happier customers.’ We’ll let the consumer be the judge of that I think.
