Rampage Coming Back

Remember that classic arcade game known as Rampage, where you controlled monsters that fought each other and destroyed buildings? It’s coming back in spring 2006 as a new video game on the PS2 and GameCube systems from Midway for $19.95.

Rampage: Total Destruction, said Midway, offers a new look at the old classic game featuring monsters George, Lizzie and Ralph. It brings in a variety of new monsters to collect and play. Almost everything in the playing environment can be destroyed and monsters can acquire upgrades throughout the course of a game. Players can go one or two as they destroy cities all over the world.

“Fans of the Rampage series are in for a whole new level of mayhem in Rampage: Total Destruction” said Steven Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway. “While the game retains the core elements that made the Rampage series so popular, new mechanics and play modes make Rampage: Total Destruction a unique game experience for a great price.”

Analogue’s 4K Nintendo 64 is coming next year, but you can preorder it next week

Analogue, the retro hardware emulation company, has officially delayed the Analogue 3D, its Nintendo 64 console. However, it released the first images of the console to tide us over until it launches next year.

The Analogue 3D was originally announced in October 2023 for a 2024 release, but the company announced Wednesday that it'll now be aiming for a release in the first quarter of 2025. It'll cost $250, come in black and white colors, and preorders will open up at 8 a.m. PT on October 21 on the Analogue website. This doesn't include a controller, but Analogue partnered with 8BitDo to create a Bluetooth N64 controller you can buy separately for $40.

Black Ops 6 isn’t the only Activision Blizzard game coming to Xbox Game Pass this month

It's October, which means it's Call of Duty season for Xbox and Activision. So expectedly, Xbox Game Pass' offerings for the second half of the month into November are all about Activision Blizzard.

October 25 is the big day for Call of Duty fans. The next entry in the shooter series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, is hitting cloud, console, and PC for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. Modern Warfare 3, which was the first Call of Duty game added to the service in July, is also specifically coming to Xbox Cloud Gaming on October 25, along with Call of Duty Warzone.

A new Tron game is coming next year, and it’s got Light Cycles

Tron is getting a new video game in 2025, and it will be the first publishing project of Devolver label Big Fan Games. Disney Tron: Catalyst is an isometric action game set in The Grid with an emphasis on narrative, identity disc combat, and light cycling. Digital Trends got a close look at the project in a hands-off demo prior to its reveal, where we learned more details about the project.

Disney Tron: Catalyst is the latest project from Bithell Games, wich previously released the excellent Tron: Identity in 2023. Catalyst is a continuation of that story, but an entirely different kind of game. While Identity was a visual novel detective story, Catalyst is a more traditional action-adventure game with combat that brings Hades to mind.
