Memorex today announced they were adding several new models to their TravelDrive family of portable storage devices. These new products are the flash memory based TravelDrive ID, available starting next month, and larger capacity sizes of the Mega TravelDrive hard drive.
The TravelDrive ID, Memorex said, is a USB 2.0 flash drive with sizes of 512MB ($79.99), 1GB ($119.99) and 2GB ($199.99). This flash drive has a metallic color scheme and a built-in customizable LCD screen which displays up to 13 characters to help the user designate a name to the drive, add a date, identify the contents stored on it and identify how much storage is left. The TravelDrive ID also features an easy-grip area at the end of the drive, a contoured cap that fits on the back of the drive to avoid loss and a blue wrap-around LED indicator.
The hard drive based Mega TravelDrive, meanwhile, has been expanded to offer 6GB ($149.99) and 8GB ($199.99) of storage. Memorex calls it the smallest USB hard drive on the market, measuring 1.75
