Leading small form factor PC maker Shuttle today announced they were releasing a new chassis targeted towards home entertainment users. The XPC M 1000 is available now at a starting price of $1,999.
The M 1000 runs off of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and takes the form factor of a device which would typically sit amongst a home theatre setup. It runs off of an Intel Pentium M processor and offers a 250 GB internal SATA hard drive for storage. Additional storage space can be added via a 2.5″ USB removable drive bay, 8-in-1 multimedia card reader or dual format DVD writer, all accessible from the front of the device.
Additional features include Nvidia GeForce 6600LE graphics, high definition 7.1 audio technology from Creative, FM radio with pause and replay functions, a remote control and a wireless keyboard.
“Now is the time to do away with the individual VCR, CD, DVD, and receiver appliances in your family media room,” said Michael Wu, President of Shuttle Computer Group, Inc in North America. “Simplifying your digital media experience through the Shuttle XPC M 1000, built on Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, makes for a pleasing modern approach to digital living.”
