XM Satellite Radio and Major League Baseball have a special gift in store for baseball fans who attend Game One of the World Series between Houston and the Chicago White Sox this Saturday at Chicago’s U.S. Cellular Field. It’s not peanuts, but instead a free satellite radio with a prepaid contract.
The giveaway, which would also occur for every fan who attends Game Five at Houston’s Minute Maid Field if the World Series goes that long, involves giving each fan a coupon for a new Delphi XM Roady XT. Each RoadyXT coupon distributed at the ballpark will have a unique code number. The coupon holder can use the code number to order the RoadyXT online. When ordering the RoadyXT, the coupon holder must prepay for the first three months of service.
Attached to the coupon will be a World Series commemorative pin.
“XM raised the bar for Major League Baseball coverage by giving fans across the country every game, all season long,” said Howard Jacobs, senior vice president of strategic partnership marketing, XM Satellite Radio. “In the one year since XM announced it would carry Major League Baseball games, XM’s customer base has doubled to more than five million subscribers. We want every fan at the first game of the World Series to experience XM Satellite Radio for themselves. And if the series goes to five games, we will do it again for Game Five.”
