Crash Tag Team Racing Races into Stores

Sierra Entertainment, a part of the larger Vivendi Universal Games family of development studios and publishing labels, today said they’d begun shipping Crash Tag Team Racing. This latest edition to the Crash Bandicoot franchise is priced at $39.99 and available for the Playstation 2, Xbox and Game Cube.

Developed by Radical Entertainment, creators of The Simpsons: Hit and Run, Crash Tag Team Racing puts players in the world of Crash Bandicoot as he attempts to stay out of the way of villain Dr. Neo Cortex. In the game, players can combine their car with an opponent’s mid-race to make a super-car equipped with a powerful turret gun. When clashed, players can either get behind the wheel and drive or fire an onboard weapon. Players can continue the action out of the car where they can explore the entire world on foot and collect upgrades for their cars and unlock bonus tracks.

The game, which offers split-screen multi-play, had its screenplay penned by Crash Twinsanity writer Jordan Reicheck. Reicheck is best known for his work on Ren & Stimpy.

“Crash Tag Team Racing introduces fans of the legendary Bandicoot to completely new racing mechanics and strategies while retaining the on-foot fun and goofy humor that made Crash so popular,” said Ian Wilkinson, President, Radical Entertainment. “With its awesome racing, huge on-foot world and hidden secrets, Crash Tag Team Racing delivers all the wacky good times gamers have come to demand from Crash as well as the high quality expected of Radical’s titles like The Simpsons: Hit & Run and The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.”
