Xitel today introduced a new iPod docking station accessory which connects an iPod to a home stereo system while at the same time charging the player. The HiFi-Link for iPod should be available in December for $99.95.
The HiFi-Link for iPod, Xitel said, uses gold-plated, line-level RCA outputs with matching studio-grade audio cable, SRS TruBass and “advanced psychoacoustics†to produce what the company feels is a high quality sound experience through a stereo system.
Other features of the HiFi-Link for iPod include implementation of the Apple Universal Dock design to make the station compatible with different iPod clips, a full sized remote control, video output for displaying photos and videos on monitors and a recharging function to charge the iPod’s battery while music is being played.
“Now you can enjoy all of your iPod content on your home entertainment system — played through more powerful stereo speakers or viewed from a large-screen living room TV,” said Barrie Davis, president of Xitel. “HiFi-Link allows iPods to seamlessly integrate with anything from a top-of-the-line surround-sound system through to a simple boombox or regular TV.”
