Iomega Ships New 1TB Storage Solution

Iomega yesterday introduced a new, compact four bay hard drive enclosure targeted towards creative services professionals and others who require fast editing speeds. The Desktop Hard Drive XL Series is priced at $899.95 and should be available now.

The Desktop Hard Drive XL Series, according to Iomega, contains four 250GB SATA hard drives, each running at 7200 RPM with an 8MB cache for performance. This 1TB external device can store up to 18,500 hours of music, 4,000,000 photos or 1,500 hours of video. It can connect to a host PC through one of its three built-in interfaces: FireWire 800, FireWire 400 or USB 2.0.
