Fox Rejoins Sirius Line Up

Sirius Satellite Radio and Fox News Radio today announced a new long term agreement to bring Fox’s news talk radio style programming back to the satellite radio provider’s line up of channels. The previous agreement had expired at end of 2005.

Under the terms of the new relationship, the two organizations said, Fox News rejoins the Sirius line up at channel 131. The Fox News Talk channel, which offers news, analysis, listener call-ins, and commentary from Fox News personalities such as Bill O’Reilly, Tony Snow, John Gibson and Alan Colmes, among others, will air on channel 145.

“We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with Fox to bring back its news service to Sirius and to add what is a compelling talk channel,” said Scott Greenstein, Sirius President of Entertainment and Sports, in a statement. “Our goal was to negotiate a new agreement that would be in the best interest of our subscribers and shareholders, and the new agreement fulfills that objective.”

Nakamichi’s wild Dragon 11.4.6 Dolby Atmos soundbar goes up for preorder this week
Nakamichi Dragon soundbar with subwoofers and Omni Motion Reference surrounds.

Nakamichi's epic Dragon 11.4.6 Dolby Atmos soundbar, which debuted at CES 2023, is about to go up for preorder starting at 9 a.m. PT on April 26. But instead of the usual preorder process, Nakamichi has decided to make the first Dragons off the line limited editions. Officially, it will be called the Nakamichi Dragon 11.4.6 Home Surround Sound System 75th Anniversary World Premiere Edition, and only 500 will be made.

Nakamichi has set the price at $3,499. That includes free shipping, but apparently only to U.S. residents. In a footnote on the preorder site, it says that Nakamichi initially planned to offer international shipping too, but had to reevaluate those plans after it discovered the logistics company it's using (eBay’s Global Shipping Program, for some reason) has a maximum weight and dollar value threshold, which the Dragon exceeds by almost $1,000. I guess some dragons don't fly.

Denon snaps up Nura, says new personalized-sound earbuds arriving this year
NuraTrue Pro.

In something of a surprise move, Denon -- a brand best known for its AV receivers -- has acquired Nura, the Australian maker of headphones and earbuds that tune themselves to a wearer's personal hearing capabilities. Denon intends to incorporate Nura's technology into its next set of wireless earbuds, which it says will be available in mid-2023. The news comes less than a year after the equally surprising news that Denon's owner, Sound United, had been acquired by Masimo, a global medical technology company. The terms of the Nura acquisition were not released.
