TV Guide Starts Blogging

TV Guide yesterday said they were launching one of the largest professional entertainment blog communities through their Web site TVGuide.com. Over 65 entertainment blogs are now live with reporting and commentary from writers and editors of the television information service’s print and online editions.

TV Guide’s entertainment blogs, said TV Guide, will focus on a variety of entertainment topics such as breaking news, current hit and cult TV shows, classics series and big screen movies. In addition TV Guide, through a partnership with LiveWorld, has enabled each blog to be open to users to post comments and interact with the site’s host. Additionally, users will be able to create their own blog about entertainment using the site’s blogging tools.

“At TVGuide.com, we are focused on becoming the leading destination for television information and entertainment guidance,” said Paul Greenberg, general manager of TV Guide Online, in a statement. “The addition of blogs and community is a natural progression for us and will enable TVGuide.com to provide an enhanced experience for our users. We’ve learned very quickly that our users are looking for new ways to engage with others who share their same passion for entertainment.”

We get it: a fireplace is often the focal point of a room, so throwing your beautiful new TV in the same location feels like the right thing to do, especially if you have limited space. Even some TV manufacturers appear to endorse the idea (just look at some of the photos in this article). But before you start drilling holes, allow us to list the many reasons we're begging you to reconsider this decision.
