D-Link Offers Up New Wireless Print Server

D-Link said today they are shipping a new multi-port wireless print server which supports multifunction printers. The new D-Link RangeBooster G Multifunction Printer Server (DPR-1260) is priced at $119.99.

The DPR-1260, said D-Link, offers four USB ports for connecting a USB enabled multifunction or regular printer. An automatic configuration wizard is then run to enable the printer’s functions over a wireless network. This print server has been reportedly tested with over 100 different print models and a web-based interface lets each user on a network scan documents, photos and more directly from their computers.

The DPR-1260 can also be used to provide wireless connectivity to any Ethernet-enabled device.

“Consumers and small business owners are no longer satisfied with sharing network resources through host computers,” said D-Link Associate Vice President of Technology Brian Larsen in a statement. “Our multifunction print server is the first of its kind to seamlessly connect printers and other sharable resources directly to the network for instant access by each user on the network.”
