Plantronics today announced what they are calling the world’s first VoIP-optimized Bluetooth headset system. The new Voyager 510-USB is priced at $199 and will be available next month.
The Voyager 510-USB, said Plantronics, includes a plug-and-play Bluetooth USB adapter as well as making use of multipoint technology to allow users to switch between multiple Bluetooth-enabled devices at the touch of a button. The system, which integrates with enterprise softphone software from a variety of VoIP providers, offers a variety of other features including call notification and remote call answering via the headsets, a noise canceling microphone, lightweight and foldable design, up to six hours of talk time, a roaming range of just over 30 feet and an included desktop charging stand, USB charging cable and AC charger.
“The Voyager 510-USB will help make people’s lives less complicated on the road by providing simple, one-step VoIP connectivity and a single headset for multiple communication devices,” said Chuck Yort, vice president of Business Solutions at Plantronics, in a statement.
