Display maker ViewSonic is aiming at the back-to-school and off-to-college market with its new 20-inch N2060w All-In-One PC TV, intended to be a single display which can meet a wide variety of needs—from computers to gaming consoles to high-definition television—all with one unit priced below $500.
“Back-to-school spending is predicted to reach $17.6 billion this year and PCs and televisions are expected to top every freshman’s shopping list,” said Jeff Volpe, ViewSonic’s vice president of marketing, in a release. “The multifunctional N2060w enables students and consumers alike to experience the digital world while saving time, money and space.”
The N2060w offers native 1366 by 768 resolution (that’ll support up to 1080i, but not 1080p), along with a 700:1 contrast ratio, a brightness of 450 cd/m2, a 160° horizontal viewing angle, and a quick 8 ms response time. The unit features an integrated NTSC tuner, and composite, component, and S-Video inputs for each connection to games, DVD players, and camcorders. te unit also sports an VGA input for connecting to PCs, and a three-speaker, 3-watt audio system. Sorry, no HDMI or DVi inputs, but the system is available now for $499.
