Here at DT, Axiom Audio’s home theater speaker systems have long been favored by The Proprietor: I think the soundbite is “We felt like we were literally in the movie; the sound was astounding.”
Now, Axiom is reciprocating some of that affection, enabling customers to customize speakers with a choice of six real-wood veneers, plus a choice of stains and three different feet, enabling the systems to integrate into a wide variety of environments and decor. Because, after all, if you’re putting enough time, energy, and money into a home theater system with these sorts of components, you’ve probably thrown time, energy, and money into your home environment as well, and it would be nice if those investments didn’t clash in big awful ways.
“In debuting customizable real-wood veneers, Axiom is responding to the strong desire of premium speaker buyers for a look that is totally their own,” said Ian Colquhoun, Axiom Audio’s president. “Home media systems are becoming more important than ever, and people look for solutions that reflect their personal tastes. Our new wood veneer products allow buyers to integrate speakers into their home decor as never before.”
Customers can now select from knotty pine, oak, walnut, cherry, maple, and rosewood veneers, as well as high-gloss black and white finishes. Wood veneers also offer a choice of hand-rubbed stains, so users can select, say, light or dark cherry, a very dark rosewood, very-blonde or a nice rice amber maple, all to match or complement the home theater environment—more than 200 wood and stain combinations are available in satin, semi-gloss, and high-gloss finishes. Six grille colors are offered, along with feet, spikes, and logos in chrome, black, and gold.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, The Proprietor is drooling again, and I must fetch the mop bucket…
