Sony has announced that it won’t be cutting the price of its PS3 console in Europe. Nor does the company have plans to release an 80GB version of the PS3 onthe continent. Sony made the announcement at E3. However, it did attempt to sweeten the deal by saying that, although the price would remain firm, Europeanbuyers would receive a “starter pack” of two games and two controllers, with a value of £115 ($230) Last week Sony said it would cut the price of the 60GB PS3 in the U.S. by$100 and introduce an 80GB model. In Britain, the PS3 sells for £425 ($850) for a 60GB model. In America, the 80GB PS3 will retail for $599. In the U.K., the PS3 is far more expensivethan its main competition, the Xbox360 and the Wii.
