Lexmark Unveils Wi-Fi All-In-One Printers

Lexmark wants users to snip the USB cables tethering them to their printers with its new line of Wi-Fi enabled all-in-one machines, announced on Tuesday. The Lexmark x6570, x7550, and x4850 allow users to print, scan, fax and access media cards all through a conventional Wi-Fi connection.

All of the new printers feature automatic two-sided printing and the ability to use Lexmark’s evercolor2 inks, which the company claims will last 100 years when used on their proprietary PerfectFinish paper.

The $149.99 x6570 can crank out 28 pages per minute (ppm) in black or 24 ppm in full color. For large jobs, it even has a 25-page hopper for automatic copying or faxing with the 48-bit scanner. The x7550 is an upgraded version of the x6570 that allows it to push out 30 ppm in black or 27ppm in color, and also adds a 2.4-inch color LCD screen for standalone use. These features tack on another $50 to the printer’s price tag, pushing it to $199.99.

The x4850 sits at the same $149.99 price point as the x6570, but includes the LCD and faster print speeds of the x7550. However, it lacks some of the x6570’s more business-oriented features like the 25-page hopper and built-in fax capability.

All printers except the x7550 are on sale now via Lexmark’s Web site.
