Indian Text Service Stopped

The Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has been forced to stop a text messaging service that gave the contact details of vehicle drivers. The reason? People has been using it to discover the identities of women drivers and pester them. According to the BBC, the service had run for a year, and anyone was free to send a text, in return receiving the vehicle owner’s name, address and phone number. However, young men soon found out they could get the phone numbers of female drivers this way, and after a number of “informal complaints” from the police, the service has been discontinued. “Now our system does not send back the address and phone number of the owner," deputy state Transport Commissioner Upendra Jain told the BBC. But the state’s web site still lists addresses for vehicle owners.

If you in the midst of choosing which music streaming service is best for you, when comparing Spotify and Tidal, price is an important, but not the only, factor to consider. Spotify stands out with its flexible subscription options, offering individual, family, and student plans, each with its own unique benefits. In contrast, Tidal offers various subscription plans, too, but Tidal's calling card is that it includes premium and hi-fi options, with the hi-fi plan providing access to lossless, hi-res audio. Spotify does not offer this ... yet.

Spotify uses the Ogg Vorbis and AAC audio formats for streaming, delivering audio at varying bitrates. At the same time, Tidal's hi-fi subscription offers lossless, CD-quality audio and hi-res audio files in FLAC and HiRes FLAC formats.

Two things that might stop me from buying the Google Pixel Watch 3

The new Google Pixel Watch 3 fixes one of my biggest issues with the previous two generations: It’s now available in a bigger size. The previous models were too small for my wrists, and the Pixel Watch 2 required me to charge it two times a day in the brief time I used it. The new 45mm size is a welcome change, and the latest Google Pixel Watch offers plenty of new features that make it look like a lucrative upgrade.

For instance, the fitness and tracking features with timed warm-ups and cooldowns, setting up target pace, heart rate, times, distances, and travel routines should contribute to a better training experience. Plus, Loss of Pulse Detection could be life-saving. The new displays are brighter than ever, too. These quality-of-life features have me looking forward to ordering one when it goes on sale.

It’s the end of an era. Google has stopped selling these three Pixel phones

At Google, a new era has begun with the debut of the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. With the arrival of these new smartphones, some of Google’s earlier phone models are being discontinued.

As 9to5Google recently noted, Google is no longer selling the 2022 Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, or Pixel Fold. It's not a surprising move for Google to clean up its available Pixel smartphones now that the Pixel 9 family has arrived, but it's still notable to see these three Pixels officially head out the door.
