Gamers – Play With Your Brain, Not Hands

Gamers – Play With Your Brain, Not HandsIn one of those the-future-is-becoming-a-science-fiction-novel moments, we’ll soon be able to play video games and control our computers with our thoughts. Emotiv, a US/Australian company has developed the wireless headset that detects over 30 different expressions, actions and emotions, according to the BBC.   Essentially, the headset uses an electroencephalograph (EEG) to read neural activity. Tan Le, president of Emotiv, says that the “brain computerinterface that reads electrical impulses in the brain and translates them into commands that a video game can accept and control the game dynamically."   Wait, you might say, there havebeen headsets before that do similar things. That’s true, but this is aimed specifically at gamers, doesn’t require ugly science hair gel or electrodes – and costs $299, notthousands.   The company says gamers will be able to move objects in a virtual world just by thinking about it. The headset will be able to pick up and distinguish between different facialexpressions the gamer makes and transfer them onto the virtual world avatar. It even has a gyroscope that can detect movement.

Honkai: Star Rail is advertised as a free-to-play game, yet many warn about the dangers of spending on it. However, you might not get the one you want, even over a hundred pulls later. Players often fawn over particular characters and weapons because of their stories and strengths. Still, HoYoverse says that the game is completely free-to-play.

Here's the verdict on whether or not Honkai: Star Rail is free-to-play, if there's anything you can buy in the game, and if you should buy anything in the game.

Mimi paddles down a river in a kayak in Dordogne.

Whenever new titles get added to Xbox Game Pass, only a handful of games make a splash. If you need help finding something new to dig into, I've got some recommendations. The service is loaded with indie standouts that you may have skimmed over while scrolling through your library. Next time you need something new to play, consider checking one of these games out.
