Sims Sales Top 100 Million It seems as if everywhere you look on games shelves, there’s something to do with The Sims. It’s been incredibly successful – but just howsuccessful has been revealed by game maker EA, who revealed that the game has sold 100 million units. That’s not as much as all the Mario games puttogether (that totals over 200 million), but still a very respectable figure. Then again, The Sims are available in 22 different languages and 60 countries, giving plenty of people the chance to buy.It’s also a huge online community that racks up over four million unique visitors each month – massive by any standards. The greatest popularity is with women, who comprise 60% ofplayers Rod Humble, studio head for The Sims label, said, "The Sims has been an interactive experience for people around the globe to explore their passion for creativity, and weare thrilled to be a part of that." Next year EA will release the long-awaited The Sims 3, and Humble offered a taster: "In The Sims3, Sims can go beyond theboundaries of their home lot, and immerse themselves in an open, living neighborhood, interacting with other Sims using our new deeper personality system."

Some of my favorite Sims 4 expansion packs like City Living and Snowy Escape expand on gameplay elements and add in new features that make playing more fun -- like the ability to take your Sims to karaoke, live in apartments, and even take a snowboarding excursion. And the Sims 4’s newest expansion pack, High School Years, brings a bunch of new features into the game that are as refreshing as a glass of prom punch.

High School Years gives players a new world, Copperdale, that is home to a fully functioning high school, new pre-designed families, and new areas that were ripe for exploration such as the dockside amusement park and the combination boba tea and thrift store.

The Sims 4 now lets players use custom pronouns

EA and developer Maxis have announced they added a new feature in The Sims 4 that finally allows players to customize pronouns for their Sims characters.

EA and Maxis wrote in their blog post on Tuesday that they have been working to add custom pronouns since last year, after receiving feedback from the Sims community. To make that feature a reality, they worked with two leading LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations, GLAAD and the It Gets Better Project, to research and understand how pronouns are used among transgender and non-binary players. In doing so, they learned the contexts in which binary gender pronouns were used in the game and worked to develop a means of customizing pronouns to make the gameplay experience more inclusive for everyone.
