PS3 Outsells Xbox 360 In Europe

PS3 Outsells Xbox 360 In EuropeSony is claiming victory – at least in Europe. There, with five million PS3 consoles sold – the cheapest goingfor $600 – it’s outsold its rival, the Xbox 360.   Speaking at a European Playstation event, Sony’s David Reeves claimed,   "Wehave been consistently outselling our closest competitor since October 2007, even with the latest price point," a reference to Microsoft lowering theprice of its console in March. He also noted that the Xbox 360 had been rolled out 16 months before the PS3.   Of course, what he didn’t mention, and didn’t have to, really, is that, when it comes to consoles, the Wii is far ahead of them both.   Reeves had other encouraging figures, too, saying that 48 million PS2s had been sold across thecontinent, along with 12 million handheld PSPs.   All this comes after a tough first year for the PS3, with games that didn’t impress and a number of out-of-stock problems for thosewanting to buy the unit. Analysts have predicted that the PS3 could overtake the Xbox 360 in America – but it’ll take two or three years.

All cross-platform games (PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC)
Two squads of heroes clash in an Overwatch 2 trailer.

Cross-platform support is becoming more important in the world of video games. Multiplayer hits like Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Fortnite have pushed crossplay into the limelight, and now most AAA multiplayer games release with at least partial cross-platform support. Finding every cross-platform game is no easy feat, though, so we did the hard work to bring you a comprehensive list of games that support crossplay.

Unfortunately, there aren't any rules when it comes to crossplay, so each game handles the feature a little differently. To make matters more confusing, certain backward-compatible games on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X still support crossplay on the most recent hardware, even if there isn't an official release for that hardware.

Why you should buy an Xbox Live Gold 3-month membership
Xbox Live Gold is the simplest tier of Microsoft's somewhat convoluted memberships. With a Gold subscription you can play any online game, not just the certain free-to-play games like Fortnite that don't need any subscription at all. If you elect to upgrade to an Xbox Game Pass membership, you'll get multiple free games per month and a large backlog of free games to download. A further upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate will get you free games on both Xbox console and PC. If you do decide to upgrade while your Xbox Live Gold membership is still active, you won't have to pay full price, just the difference between the membership plans.
