Unannounced Samsung S-Circle activity tracker hits the FCC

Samsung S Band

Samsung continued its venture into the wearable market by announcing the Galaxy Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and the Gear Fit at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. However, if the mysterious appearance of something called the “S-Circle” via the FCC says anything, it’s that Samsung will only continue to embrace that market.

If that name rings a bell, it’s because we saw it show up at the Bluetooth certification page. According to the device description, the S-Circle is an activity tracker, though, as of now, we do not know about any other features of the device.

Even so, we could be looking at a feature set similar to that of the S Band, which Samsung launched around the same time it launched the Galaxy S4. Paired with the handset’s S Health app, the S Band tracked your exercises and sleep patterns. Interestingly, the S Band is no longer available for purchase from Samsung’s website, so an update could be in the works.

If rumors of the device are confirmed, we could expect sensors for monitoring steps, calories, and environmental data, as well as GPS navigation. In addition, we could see voice functionality found in the Gear line to make its way to the S-Circle.

The best Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra cases: top 20 you can buy
The back of the white Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Looking for the best of the best? Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra is in the running to be considered the baddest of the bunch, running right up against the iPhone 14 Pro as the best smartphone overall, and being unquestionably the best Android smartphone available today.

It's not alone in being excellent — the rest of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series is similarly amazing, but the big and powerful Galaxy S23 Ultra is the most expensive of the three. It starts at $1,200 retail, but it's a solid investment considering that it could easily be the only smartphone you'll need for years to come — it delivers performance like nothing we've ever seen before, and you're guaranteed updates through Android 17.

Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy A54 in hand

Samsung has a typical release schedule each year that starts with the main flagship devices. After that, there are some new, budget-friendly options.

So far in 2023, Samsung has given us the flagship Galaxy S23 lineup, which includes the S23, S23 Plus, and the S23 Ultra. Though the S23 Ultra is no doubt the most powerful of the trio, the standard S23 is also great for those who want a more compact smartphone that still packs a punch.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE is currently on sale from Best Buy, with the model offering 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM available for just $470 following the retailer's $130 discount on its sticker price of $600. This is one of the most attractive tablet deals in the market right now, but time is running out if you want to take advantage of it. The device's price goes back to normal at the end of the day, so you shouldn't waste time if you want to purchase it.

Why you should buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE, is a new version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus as it's equipped with the same 12.4-inch touchscreen with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, instead of the 11-inch touchscreen of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE, however, has a TFT screen, and not the Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate that's found in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Tab S7. That's an acceptable trade-off for the tablet's lower price though, especially if you'll only be using the device for watching streaming content, playing games, and browsing the internet.
