Asus 901 And 1000 To Hit UK

If you’re in the UK and you’ve been salivating over the specs of the two new Asus Eee laptops, the 901 and the 1000, you won’t have long to wait before you can own one. The company has announced that they will both go on sale in Britain on July 1.

Both will be available with either Linux or Windows OS, and upgraded six-cell battery, and 1GB of RAM. The Windows 901 will have 12GB solid-state storage, the Linux model 20GB. Move up to the Eee 1000 and the Windows version has an 80GB hard drive, but 40GB for Linux. There will be 20GB free, encrypted online storage for both models.

The Eee 901 will retail at £319 (about $620), which is a little cheaper than the 900 on its release. Asus hasn’t released a price for the Eee 1000 yet.

In the span of only a few months, OLED has flooded the world of gaming monitors, and two models rise above the heights of others: Alienware's 34 QD-OLED and Asus' ROG Swift OLED 27.

I've used both extensively, and although they're both among the best gaming monitors you can buy, Alienware's 34 QD-OLED still wins the day. That doesn't mean you should discount the ROG Swift OLED 27, also known as the PG27AQDM, though. It has a few unique advantages of its own.

There are two laptops that have been battling for the top slot on our best gaming laptops roundup: the Razer Blade 14 and Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. And with new models for 2023, the battle between them has never been more fierce.

Even after writing my Razer Blade 14 2023 review, though, the Zephyrus G14 still holds up. I expected Razer to run away with the battle, but with some pricing changes and improvements from Asus on its latest Zephyrus G14, the choice isn't as cut-and-dried as you might think.

Asus is releasing an RTX 4060 as big as the RTX 4090

Asus is taking advantage of its ROG Strix cooler design for RTX 40-series graphics cards, all the way down to the measly RTX 4060. Asus is turning what should be a compact, two-slot GPU into a 3.1-slot behemoth, matching the size of its already massive RTX 4090 Strix model.

In fairness to Asus, the RTX 4060 model is slightly smaller: 3.1 slots compared to 3.5 slots on the RTX 4090 version. Regardless, that's a massive cooler for a relatively tame graphics card. This isn't the recently released RTX 4060 Ti -- though that one is getting the triple-slot treatment as well -- but the upcoming RTX 4060, which is slated to launch in July.
