Expanding on its already-burgeoning line of multi-function printers, Canon on Monday announced two new color laser models targeting home offices and small business. The ImageClass MF9150c and MF9170c both borrow technology from Canon’s more serious business copiers, but roll in other functions as well.
The printers come nearly equally equipped with print, scan, copy and fax functionality, but the pricier MF9170c picks up PCL5e/6 support and advanced sending capabilities out of the box. Otherwise, specs include 22 pages-per-minute black and white capability, 33.6 Kbps Super G3 fax, slots for reading compact flash, SD and USB memory sticks, and a 50-page automatic document feeder.
The printers also use Canon’s single cartridge system, which places the toner, drum and development unit in one replaceable cartridge to simplify maintenance.
The ImageClass MF9150c and MF9170c sell for $2,495 and $2,995, respectively, and are available immediately through Canon resellers.
