Call Of Duty 4 Big Golden Joystick Winner

Call Of Duty 4 Big Golden Joystick Winner

The people at Activision, the publishers of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, were very happy on Thursday night. At the annual British Golden Joystick Awards, CoD4 scooped the Nuts All-Nighter Award, ESA PC Game of the Year, GamesRadar.com Online Game of the Year and Virgin Media Ultimate Game of the Year.

Unlike the other big British game awards, the Baftas, the Golden Joysticks winners are chosen by the public, not experts, and this year 850,000 people voted, according to the BBC.

David Tyler, marketing director at Activision, said:

"We’re really honored to receive this award. We’d like to thank everyone involved, especially the development team, Infinity Ward."

"The Golden Joysticks’ importance has grown year on year and it has helped raise the profile of the games industry as a whole."

Unlike previous editions of the game, which had been placed in World War II, CoD4 has a contemporary setting.

One of the year’s biggest games, Grand Theft Auto IV, didn’t go home empty handed, either. It claimed the BBC 1Xtra Soundtrack of the Year and Xbox Game of the Year awards, while developers Rockstar won CVG’s Developer of the Year award. That means the franchise has won an award for seven years in a row.

Among other awards, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock walked away with The Sun’s Family Game of the Year and Handheld Game of the Year went to Nintendo‘s Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. The Grandmaster Flash Award for web-based flash game was taken by Stickman Madness and the Mobile Game Pitch was awarded to Finders Keepers and developer Tobias Rowe.

Character calling in killstreak in Warzone 2.0.

With the highly anticipated launch of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, players have started dropping into the new battle royale experience. The original Warzone was complex enough on its own, and its sequel continues that trend, with new mechanics that will likely confuse even the most dedicated players -- at least at first. While Warzone 2.0 is fundamentally very similar to its predecessor, it comes with a host of changes you should be aware of.

The list of differences feels practically endless, but here, we'll highlight the most notable changes between Warzone and Warzone 2.0.
Loadouts
Much to the relief of the community, Loadouts remain in Warzone 2.0, but they work differently than before. We'll dive into more specifics in a separate guide, but the main thing you need to know is that you cannot simply purchase a Loadout Drop from a Buy Station anymore.

The best Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Lachmann Sub loadout
The Lachmann Sub in Modern Warfare II.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, having an SMG for close- to mid-range is essential, especially on 6v6 maps. While there are plenty of weapons that work well in this category, few even come close to the Lachmann Sub (or MP5, as it's known colloquially). This SMG is a Call of Duty staple at this point, so it's easy to see why so many have gravitated toward it.

Of course, since weapons and their attachments function differently in this game, building the Lachmann properly is a tricky process. Which attachments are the best and what are this weapon's strong points?
