Office 2007 SP2 For Release

Office 2007 SP2 For Release

If you use Office 2007, you should be aware that Microsoft is releasing Service Pack 2 for the software, pretty much on the schedule it promised, according to CNET.

SP2 includes several features, including the long-promised support for both Open Document Format (ODF) and Portable Document Format (PDF) files, as well as several other tweaks.

Writing on the Microsoft site, group product manager Jane Liles said:

"Users should notice the improved performance and stability of Outlook, better charting functionality in Excel, and more control over the appearance of SmartArt graphics."

The move has been welcomed by the ODF Alliance. In a statement, managing director Marino Marcich said:

“This action reflects the global market demand, particularly by governments, for open standards-based interoperability through ODF. This is a victory for ODF, as it signifies a reversal of course by Microsoft from their decision to shun the format during the initial launch of Office 2007."

Remnant 2 PC: change these graphics settings immediately
A knight with a gun in a burning square.

Remnant 2 is officially out after a three-day early access period, and PC players are already forming strong opinions. The game is remarkably demanding, despite the fact that it doesn't include any ray tracing settings. On top of that, the developers insist that the game was designed with upscaling tools like Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) in mind, causing some backlash from PC players.

I've played just shy of 16 hours during the early access period, including a full campaign run. Although Remnant 2 is demanding even on flagship hardware, you can push down most of the graphics settings without impacting the look of the game. Here are the best settings to get Remnant 2 into a playable state on PC.

ASUS CM3200 Chromebook — $199, was $299

While the best laptops often focus on delivering as much power as they can into their footprint, the best Chromebooks tend to focus on simplicity and delivering just the things more entry-level users need. This is true with the ASUS CM3200 Chromebook, which comes in at under $200. This price point gets you quite a bit, including an HD touchscreen display, an 8-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage space. This is generally plenty for base users like students, or professionals whose work doesn’t go much further beyond word processors, spreadsheets, and browsing the web.
