The owner of an Audi dealership in Beijing, China, has asked his body shop to transform a wrecked long-wheelbase A6 L into a practical shop truck.
The pickup is nearly identical to a stock A6 L from the front bumper to the tip of the B-pillar. Beyond that, all of the sheet metal above the belt line has been removed and the premium sedan’s rear doors have been sealed shut in order to create a surprisingly long bed. The A6 L’s stock tail lamps were retained, but the shop was unfortunately not able to fit the truck with a tail gate.

A metal partition with a small rectangular window separates the passenger compartment from the cargo area. Sheet metal riveted to the A6’s body creates a flat loading floor, and the finishing touch is a yellow roll bar that looks like it arrived straight from the 1970s.
The “RS 6” and “V10” emblems visible in the pictures are highly misleading. WorldCarFans reports the pickup is powered by a stock A6 L-sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder TFSI engine that sends 170 horsepower and 206 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels only. The shop has not been able to calculate the A6 pickup’s payload.
Although the A6-based shop truck is a brilliant idea on paper, it’s a little less practical in real-world situations because it is reportedly not street-legal.
