Warner Bros. just got done moving Superman V. Batman: Dawn Of Justice ahead to March 2016 in order to avoid competition with Marvel’s third Captain America movie, and added to the announcement with confirmation of nine upcoming, unidentified films. Now the studio has staked its claim on two more upcoming movie release dates for animated films reportedly connected with its highly successful Lego license.

While nothing is official at this point, The Hollywood Reporter has suggested — based on word from insider sources — that the recently announced May 25, 2018 and May 24, 2019 dates claimed by the studio for upcoming animated films are being set aside for a sequel to the Lego Ninjago movie premiering in 2016 and a third installment of The Lego Movie, respectively. A sequel to The Lego Movie has already been scheduled for May 26, 2017.

It’s no surprise that the studio has big plans for The Lego Movie, given the film’s blockbuster success. Since debuting in February, the animated film featuring the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, and Liam Neeson has grossed over $468 million worldwide, making it one of 2014’s biggest hits.

The Lego Ninjago movie debuting in 2016 is based on the popular line of Lego toys and building sets that has already spawned several successful video games and an animated television series. The film is being written by the creators of the animated series, who also co-wrote the script for The Lego Movie.

Where to watch all the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and shows
The Guardians in a prison line-up in Guardians of the Galaxy.

oIn 2014, Marvel released Guardians of the Galaxy, a superhero film about a ragtag group of misfits forced to team up and go on the run after stealing a mysterious orb containing the Power Stone. Even without legacy Marvel characters (Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America, etc.), Guardians of the Galaxy became a surprise hit, and the team quickly became one of the most popular entities in the MCU.

The original five members of the team include Chris Pratt (The Terminal List) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldaña (Avatar) as Gamora, Dave Bautista (Dune) as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel (Fast X) as Groot, and Bradley Cooper (A Star Is Born) as Rocket. Along the way, the Guardians added Pom Klementieff (Westworld) as Mantis, Karen Gillan (Dual) as Nebula, Sean Gunn (Creature Commandos) as Kraglin, and Maria Bakalova (Bodies Bodies Bodies) as Cosmo. James Gunn (The Suicide Squad) is the writer and director of all Guardians projects in the MCU.

All the John Wick movies, ranked from worst to best
A man aims a gun in John Wick 2.

What's the best John Wick movie? The answer is harder than it may seem since all four (so far) movies in the franchise are so darn good. From the first movie's origins as an under-the-radar film that quietly launched in the fall of 2014 to the latest installment John Wick: Chapter 4's big box office success, the John Wick movies have only increased in popularity and critical acclaim in the nine years it has existed.

Every John Wick movie has been praised for its innovative action and stylish direction, but which one ranks at the top? Is it the original John Wick, which established the series in the first place? Or is it Parabellum, which dramatically expanded the scope and depth of the franchise? The following is a list of all the John Wick movies, ranked in ascending order by their Rotten Tomatoes score.

I loved The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Here are 5 more movies you should watch
Mario, Peach, and Toad look out at the Mushroom Kingdom

Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, The Super Mario Bros. Movie has turned into a massive success thanks to its fantastic cast, hilarious script, and colorful world. And considering the movie's giant box office haul (it made $377 million in its opening weekend alone), it's safe to say it's already the most popular movie of 2023 and that we'll likely have more Mario movies coming our way in the future.

This was a much-needed win for the video game movie genre as well since films adapted from video games often turn into critical failures and box office busts. But perhaps this is the start of a new era where video game movies are serious business in Hollywood. In the near future, we're going to see adaptions of popular games like Borderlands, Firewatch, and Five Nights at Freddy's, and players are hoping they can all live up to the games that inspired them.
